A lot of people are walking around with titanium in them. Bone doctors like the material.

:: raises hand ::

I'm a card-carrying member. ....

I’ve got stainless steel in my left knee. ....

Admiral Thomas "Tug" Benson said, ....

I have a shell the size of my fist in my head. Pork Chop Hill. The only way I can keep this toup on is by magnetzing the entire upper left quadrant of my skull.

My ear canals are very sensitive. They're stainless steel. Took a bullet at Corregidor. Passed straight through.

Ever since Normandy this [his forehead] is Corning Ware.

I had my nostrils fried in Panmunjom.

My eyes are ceramic. A bazooka round at Little Big Horn. Or was it Okinawa?

My intestines were removed during action in the North Atlantic. Took a torpedo in the lower abdomen and they replaced every foot of my bowel with hemp. Clogs easily.

Damn tongue's gone dry. It's not mine, you know. I lost mine in Laos. Little commie kid lopped it right off. Probably a doorstop somewhere for all I know. I got this one from a Bassett hound. [lapping water from a glass]

My skin's made of asbestos. Tanning parlor accident at Dien Bien Phu.

[referring to his face] Aluminum siding. 10 year guarantee. Never have to be painted.

There is a song about guy with a detachable headstock or something. Not really interested in a Web search for "detachable [headstock] song". I do recall people talking about it but never listened myself.

I can think of a French children’s song called Alouette. The one that goes

Alouette, gentille alouette,
Alouette, je te plumerai....

An Alouette is a small bird called a Lark. It’s a circle song about plucking it. Je te plumerai la tête, translates to I’m going to pluck your head. It goes on to describe plucking the beak, the eyes, etc. At some point, they’re going to detach the head before cooking it.

What kind of childrens song is that?

Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm always painted a nice picture before the kid was eaten.

WHAT in the name of Jayzuzonabicycle were they doing...reading Grimm’s tales to us?!!

I know that every culture has its La Llorona, but Western Europeans went Straight over the top!

Librarian grans may have read actual Grimm's stories. Most everyone else got the highly sanitized and distorted versions.

For some reason I didn't care for the story "The Tinderbox" at all

Can we PLEASE, for the love of all that is good, STOP re-naming stuff that already had a name?

"Yacht Rock"???

Radio is always rebranding to make the it appear new to attract more listeners. They must have done a study that indicated that adult contemporary is old and yacht rock is new and attractive. It’ll be short lived.

I haven’t much listened to radio in 30 years. When I have turned it on, it was the same songs, morning show hosts with their fake laughter, same bits, etc. Very boring.

That wouldn't be a pulled bridge on that Ric with the MarkBass, would it?
Lift, not pulled, and it's a tailpiece, not a bridge, my love! :D When I got that bass (July '73 4001) in Feb '02 it was already like that, probably been that way for a long time, too. It has never budged beyond that point and still sounds excellent (I had my March '73 4001 with its older style cast aluminum tailpiece to make direct comparisons with).

BTW, it is really only half as high as it looks due to the mirror-image reflection off the glossy finish.
