Fact checkers were once armed with phone books, a library, a shared knowledge pool, and telephones.
Nowadays, they only need their imagination.
...those that control google will decide what we think, do, and say. It’s amazing that the law enforcement investigates by googling, and looking on facebook and other social media platforms. After that, they’re lost. Social media ghosts, those without a digital presence, are frowned upon.

Uncertain if our world supports the temperament of a good fact checker in the public marketplace. They're Uber drivers and Air BnB operators in the gig economy today. Uncertain if our educational system supports the temperament of most of the people who wouldn't otherwise fit in.

People have their own version of the truth. That’s what modern fact checkers look for. When a media company hires someone, the have to be the right fit for their organization. You wouldn’t want disharmony or dissonance. The fact checkers know what the correct result should be before they undertake their task. They just need to look for the evidence that supports their slant.

Certainly it pays to be loose with the truth when your organization's income depends on it. Being loose with the truth about ourselves is another matter altogether.

How many occasionally fail those click the box that have whatever in them tests? I certainly do. The one when you try to withdraw money from the bank is even harder.

I thought that when I left school I’d never have to take a test again. I was wrong, life is full of tests. There’s always another chance to fail.

I'm not as grumpy when I pass all my lab tests 
Being able to hold it till you get to the office before you can pass your lab test can make you both grumpy and anxious.
