Good thing no GOFs actually use computers and browsers

I'd say to ask Hugh Hefner, but...

Ask my j-school classmate? She did a shoot for Playboy. I never asked her about it.

What I know as a fact is the editors at Playboy were as persnickity about type as you will ever, ever see. That you (general you) may never have noticed the quality of the typography in Playboy does not mean it didn't register on some level. Type has a voice.

So do pictures?

Wowzers. Nice... ummm.... boots. Speaking of seeing reflections in pictures, Is that Hal's eye from 2001 in the thermostat????

First they invented Pre-Black Friday sales to go with Black Friday sales, then one more chance for Black Friday sales on Saturday, then Did You Forget About Our Black Friday Sale: One Last Chance, then Pre-Cyber Monday on Sunday sales, then Cyber Monday sales. Yesterday I woke up to 50+ emails and they continued to arrive throuout the day. Previous days were similar, the mailbox was continuously filling with offers, like rain falling into a paper cup. I was hoping that today would be Give-Me-A-Break-Tuesday. But no, I had a string of emails waiting for me. It seems that today is One-Last-Chance-Tuesday.

One of my emails was from General Motors. My vehicle is a 2019. GM thinks that it's time a new SUV and is offering me a special $1000 discount. It seem that they don't have a lot of faith in their products lasting more than two years.

I didn't know that people read playboy. But it seems that there was a "type".

50 Vintage Ads: What Kind Of Men Read Playboy ?

As a young single man I enjoyed Playboy. Beautiful ladies and provocative articles. It wasn't just a 'skin' magazine. There was a lot of thoughtful content. The magazine used quality glossy paper, was generous with its space, and the type was beautiful. Old Hef did good with Playboy. Sad to see a tradition fade into history.

I s'pose they shoulda had 2 questions. "What kind of man reads Playboy?" and "What kinda man looks at Playboy?":smug:

I wonder how many young men make life decisions based on messaging like this? It's not subliminal. No suggestive figures revealed in ice cubes need apply.
These were different times. Those young men are probably retired by now and marketing no longer targets those in that age group. These are such weird different times.

Some women were brought up to longingly gaze at wealthy men. After all, they were expected to marry rich. In some respects the world has moved on, or has it. There are still many cultures and religions where marriages are arranged by parents. The right families are brought together. Internet introductions are very popular today. That isn’t far removed from arranged marriages, although perhaps some choice is allowed with the internet.

Close by, I see young Hasidic girls looking after their brothers and sisters. Families are large. They’re training to be mothers for when they are a little older. That’s their lot in life. After high school or when they turn the allowed age, they marry and start their own families. In some cases these girls are matched with men that live in distant cities. Families are close knit but they leave their parents and siblings behind for a new life, embraced by a new community. They are brought up to expect this and accept the life.

An arranged marriage would be my shortest route to prison :roflmao:
