That many of my New Year's Eves were spent in the company of Jerry and The Boys is a pleasant consolation .... well in fact one of them NYEs was right here and my date and I are just below the camera, a few rows to the left. And yes much surprised by a kiss a midnight
Here in the waning hours of 2020 I have speck (like prosciutto), a bit of camembert, and Lindeman's cherry lambic beer.

I find I have to acclimatize to break 5000 meters. And guess who ain't doing that at 65.
Can you say "stroke," boys and girls? I knew you could.
Not quite 5K M, but, back in the late part of the last century, a 95 year old woman made it to the top of Mt. Whitney.
Besides, you're not 65, yet.

It has been so pleasant seeing the neighbor's Christmas lights from the kitchen before the sun rises. They don't leave the lights on all night, I discovered, so someone there is an early riser too. As of New Year's Day, the lights are gone 
I saw my first discarded christmas tree out on the street yesterday. It looked somewhat forlorn lying by the side of the road, no longer a focal point. It used to be that some would celebrate Christmas and throw their tree out the next day, then leave town for warmer climates. With none of that going on, people are carrying on longer with the lights and decorations. It’s nice to see.

Seems to me the first of the year is the dread day for Christmas trees.

Well 2021 gets off to a good start. I picked up my new glasses this morning. It’s been a struggle for the last 6-8 weeks.
