No pedal board. Played keys with my right hand and hammered the strings with my left.

I've doubled on keys a few times. I went and bought a specific Yamaha keyboard that would let me split the keys (bass left and "key" sound right) and pan the signal so I had separate outputs for each. Bass sound to my bass amp, "key" sound to the PA. Then, for a couple of songs, I'd strap on my Casio digital saxophone for intros to Turn The Page and Can't You See. Did I get paid any extra for this "Virtuosity? Of course not...

With the group I was part of in Miami in the mid 70's, I had my bass on, my Bari sax on a tall stand in front of me, the alto on a regular sax stand, and the flute on a flute peg. The keyboard man used my Rheem "KeeBass" when I would play one of the horns. And, no, I didn't get any extra either.

Bass, bari, and alto on "Sir Duke". Also I'd occasionally 'hammer' the bass with my left and finger a G, G#, or A on the bari with my right. Awkward as hell, but filled out the last chord.(our instrumentation was trumpet-doubling a string synth, keys/guitar[one man], drums, and me. For 4 guys, we sounded almost like a quartet )

Gosh it looks so heroic playing the bass like that.

Headstock cams seem to be a thing these days. Some use them for instruction. The view down the neck is certainly interesting.

I once thought they put a movie camera on Paul's headstock in The Beatles Help! movie.

Hand/nail grooming is important too, cameras are very revealing. All this upkeep is a lot of work.

Cell phone clip on mounts are available but they can get clumsy, especially if you are going for a two camera shot and using picture in picture. Smaller sized cameras are better. I like the GoPro Hero9 but bhphoto has some nice miniature cameras at way more affordable prices.

My MAN! Love the clinic on Funk #49. That was always my jam. When the guitar stores started posting signs saying "No Stairway To Heaven" I thought, "No problem!" and just rolled into Funk #49 instead. But I admit I never had those 2 dissonant notes like he does. And I thought "Whole Lotta Love" was like that just from outta tune overdubs. Who knew?

Listening to everything that he's playing in the video, it's a master lesson on how he wrings notes out of his instrument. He works hard to make it musical, a far fry from simply fretting a string of notes.

It's difficult for me to describe what makes a good drummer. At one end of the spectrum you have a drum machine keeping everything in perfect time, at the other end you have a musical drummer. Not sloppy, not untuned, but flowing in the pocket that provides a foundation for everyone else to build the song upon. I don't like playing with a drum machine.
