Headstock cams seem to be a thing these days. Some use them for instruction.

But, they don't really add anything truly educational, IMO.

It's difficult for me to describe what makes a good drummer. At one end of the spectrum you have a drum machine keeping everything in perfect time, at the other end you have a musical drummer. Not sloppy, not untuned, but flowing in the pocket that provides a foundation for everyone else to build the song upon. I don't like playing with a drum machine.

So why to learner bass player..."get a metronome, get a metronome.......etc......???

I played with a 'drum machine' from 1988-2013 (sigh ). It was one way to stay working and make decent money, I guess. The drum machine evolved into a Mac with some great software as time went along. And, as the band leader put it,...one less person to be late for the gig, not vary the tempos from night to night, have too much stage volume, etc...
That of course works for some music better than others. Playing standards with a drum machine sucked but the contemporary dance music was a different story.

Some people learn by watching, others do it by listening. If I can see something played, I learn much faster.

A metronome is very good for practicing. But when playing, I hate a mechanical click track. It gets in the way. The live drummer is the click track.

it leverages the youtube app imbedded in the Roku interface . Launch of playback triggered by selection from my device.

I can display local video transmitted by bluetooth also, decoded and upscaled on the TV. This is a Roku enabled TCL screen

Yes I thought the same. There are better examples that allow you to see the fingerboard and the picking hand technique. Start with a good camera mount that allows the camera to be properly positioned and a focal system with the proper depth of field. On YT, there's a lot of cell phone mounts, perhaps not the best solution.
