The wife and I took this plane on a Red Rock tour over Sedona, AZ. She and I were crammed in the front seat side by side. Not terribly comfortable. It was loads of fun. But, I have to admit I did get a bit motion sick. Not super seriously but the fun ended for me; I wanted down.

You should have done the balloon, instead. ;) We did a hot air balloon out of Carefree, AZ in '93. Lots of room and comfort (no seats, though), and lots of fun. :bassist: No motion sickness like I always got whenever we went sailing in the '80s out of Oxnard Harbor.

I got to meet Steve McQueen in '75 before he was dead. I worked for Mid-Continent Aircraft in Hayti, MO. MC was mainly ag aircraft but at the time they also restored and customized Boeing Stearman biplanes. Steve bought a Stearman from MC and came to pick it up.

Here are pics of a few Stearmans MC built but no pics of McQueen's. The black/gold belonged to Gulf Oil at one point. We sold it to a guy in Kankakee, IL. MC's owner Dick Reade flew it up there and I got to ride along! It had the P&W R985-450hp engine. Our speed was about 120mph on the way up. The new owner traded in another Stearman with the Continental W670-220hp engine. We flew back at a brisk 65mph and had to stop and spend the night about halfway. Loved it! About once a month Mr Reade would take employees for a ride. Tons of fun doing aerobatics in those planes!

Waaay cool, brother!

Wasn't today supposed to be @12BitSlab's surgery? I hope all went well.

What a coincidence! I just got my phone back. Was told that everything went well. No problems.

When asked how I felt afterwards, evidently I said,"Hungry!"

If I post anything super stupid tonight, please forgive me in advance.

Good to hear. Coming out of the fog, good thing you said Hungry! and not something embarrassing.

That's excellent news!

It's not getting you off the prayer list just yet, though; you'll receive notification in due course from the Superintendent.

What a wonderful name for a town! :)
Here is a typical street intersection in Carefree:

Ho-Hum Intersection.jpg

Carefree is mostly a bunch of snooty rich white peeps. I prefer the town to its west (Cave Creek). I lived about 10 minutes south of Carefree. It's just houses. No downtown. No nada. Wanted nothing to do with it. Of course, one of the subdivisions is named Sin Cuidado (a misuse of that phrase).
Sounds like it might be full of accident prone types.
