Funny you should say that. I was going to include the following in my original post, but decided not to. So, here goes.
The road from Carefree down into Scottsdale is Pima Rd. North of Pinnacle Peak Rd., it's DARK. There's a low area in the road about a quarter of a mile long up by Legend Trail. 57 year old rich white dude in his BLACK Porsche decided he didn't like waiting on the cars in front of him, so he started passing them. At night. In the pitch black. In his black car. He got into the low area, managed to pass the first two of three cars, then managed to head-on a Scottsdale dump truck that had not yet entered the low area. The truck and driver were pretty much undamaged, but the Porsche ended up about 3-4 feet in length. That dead dude became part of the wreck.

Love that photo! Posted it on another forum (Cakewalk by Bandlab; the former SONAR). Some of the peeps on that forum release the occasional song under the band name Fizzy Pickle. Their version of "Hungry Like The Wolf" is far superior to Duran Duran's IM(not so)HO.
Here's an Arizona pic. I had to drive my refurbished 1973 MGBGT down this iconic highway.

A modern MG GT — a car built to 2021 standards, and with 2021 reliability — is absolutely my perfect dream car. Wilton carpets yes.
And it's the proper color, too.
There is a small city (village?) just East of Kalamazoo, MI off of I-94. I would say this would be your next stop after Intercouse, PA....
Yes Sir, British Racing Green. It was originally imported into a dealership in Arizona and didn't have a single bolt rusted on. No rust anywhere. Made the restoration a lot easier.
Yes, many improvements were added. Being roadworthy was my primary goal during the restoration. No trailer queens for me.
I'd also suggest a route via Blue Ball, PA, a mere 8.8 miles from Intercourse. It would be a big relief to get to Climax.There is a small city (village?) just East of Kalamazoo, MI off of I-94. I would say this would be your next stop after Intercouse, PA....
