Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I've only played one gig since last March, it was at an empty club about a month ago and was shown on Zoom I believe. The club hired my three piece blues band for every Friday in February a few days ago. Then we found out yesterday that the country is on extreme alert and they're closing a lot of places and the gig's out and we now have another curfew from 7pm to 4am every night. I don't like it but I agree that we have to do some drastic things to hopefully stem the tide of this pandemic so I'm not angry or anything but damn, I REALLY wanted to play. It is in effect from Jan 31 to Feb 15 but mostly likely they will keep extending it. We were pretty much locked down from March until November last year. There have been a lot of problems here, mostly to do with lack of money and hospital space.

That really sucks. Not being able to play, or get back to MA, puts you in a position that is worse than mine here in CA. Hope things improve for you, @bobyoung53.

Yes this is pretty much how I spent this birthday

I had owned a bunch of 8 tracks, but not any of Iron Butterfly. I am going to assume that the track changes 2 or 3 times during the song In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.......

I put a Panasonic 8 track in my '61 Impala and put 4 round 8" coaxial speakers in the back deck. I had to cut it and it was not fun, I don't even remember how I did it, I was 17. My buddies and I decided to go out riding around one night with the obligatory canned refreshments. My mother asked me to bring her to the Mart the next day and I had noticed the 8 track didn't sound right so while she was inside I went to check out my speakers (no grilles) and at least one was filled right to the brim with liquid refreshment. My mother never said a word.

The airport's open now, and hopefully will stay open, we're heading back in April and from what I've heard there's not a lot happening in Mass either. I play just about everyday anyway, lots of time unplugged while I'm watching TV:laugh:.

;) Ya got me! I really thought that was a video and that something was wrong with my tablet.

Well "played". :roflmao: And happy birthday.
.

And therein a tale

A ten o'clock salon appointment in anticipation of an evening at a brewpub that has limited table service finds me at home for a hour's video conference. Dinner's off, brewpub's closed, and I've two videos due Friday for the cohort. One's the groove and fill and the other is a blindfolded note finder. Beginner stuff, lesson one. Right. And I've got my hair cut and styled, hook up the DAW and camera

and do a few takes until I'm reasonably happy.

But not happy enough to post these in public :bag: so a screenie :sorry:

Ya, I couldn't find your video title on YouTube...I tried!

Looks like your amp got falling down drunk. As I said earlier, the next (birthday) milestone is a long way off. Once you hit 65, you can count backwards each year from now on.

More than once I've considered recording via DAW and making it appear I'm mikeing a hundred dollar practice amp!

(angled up in that monitor position makes it a breeze to play at low volume)

I tried to post a video of me playing to YouTube once, but they said that they have standards even though their standards are exceedingly low.

BTW, I am home now. I told my wife that she gets to be my private duty nurse and that she had to do anything I asked her to do. Let's just say that she was not amused. :D

A summoning bell at bedside is probably right out.

Pleased you're home!
