I always enjoyed those type of serials. Other than the Three Stooges that I see on AMC, I suppose that they have been relegated to speciality channels along with many of the Saturday morning cartoons.
I have yet to find My Favorite Martian. :crying:

We did find and watch the movie with Chistopher Lloyd, but that was pretty stupid, however, except for Ray's part, which was brilliant, as always.

Good morning everyone you GOF's. Is everyone enjoying a good weekend?
I have some good news. My sugar level went to 1/3 of what it was due to the pills and change in my eating habits.
The Big D word scares me enough that I've altered my eating habits and become more moderate activity for the rest of my life.
It's a beautiful weekend here in Sitka. Blue skies, so we're going to go to the park and throw some burgers on the Barby! :D

THAT'S AWESOME MY SOON TO BE FROZEN ALASKAN LEFTY FRIEND!!!

Progression of Type II can be stopped in it's tracks with diet at any time, but you can't always go back. Your dedication to the diet is what has spared you a rough life in later years. You may well be able to get off the pills. Exercise is also important. My sugar reads high sometimes. Triglycerides are always through the roof. I'll be type II in ten years if I don't start eating like a monk. Wife and doc always on me about that. Dad was Type II and so was him mom.

Do they have you on a pancreas booster or a pill to help rid you of Trygly's? I'm on the latter and have been for over ten years. I know more about type II than most diabetics, and what do I do about it? Procrastinate taking care of myself. I'm proud of you and keep it up. I'll start walking to Alaska soon for a visit, and if you keep up the good work, you'll be there when I arrive in 20 years sharp.

Way to go, @alaskaleftybass! Keep up the good work!!

You've just had ''the first big win''. But later, when the blood testing, food abstinence, and exercise get tiresome, don't give up and give in!!

No kidding, if there's a support group you can get to, then do it. It really does help to share and know that others really do understand and want you to continue to succeed.

Bon chance!

I'm off insulin completely by becoming a vegetarian 2.2 years ago (plus I've lost 50 lbs. !!!) and I don't really miss meat protein at all.

Thank you my friends. I am on a pancreas booster pill of some sort. Also two large beige pills I take one in the morning and one at night. My last reading was blood sugar 134. I started at 359.

I've stopped using little to no sugar and we're reading ingredients on food and trying to limit me to 36 grams of sugar a day. The 27 pound weight loss (in three weeks--I'm a big guy) and lowering my sugar intake to almost nothing I feel much more energetic. I don't know if it's the weight loss, the medication, or both, but it is noticeable. Yesterday for the heck of it I did a blood sugar on my wife and she came in at 100. Hallelujah! I need her to take care of me when I old rich and famous LOL.

This has been a life changing event and I'm thankful I changed doctors. Before this the previous doctor hadn't even ordered any blood tests for three years!

What is going to be hard for me is giving up my meat. I love beef. If I had to reduce my diet to fractions of ounces of beef pork and chicken I will. But wife and I tried vegetarian before and it didn't go well.

I think I'm taking both what you're taking. And I'm feeling so much better. And I'll be here to shake your hand when you arrive!
