I feel for those critters. When it gets down into the sub-zeroes I just marvel how they survive with such a short coat and little to eat.

Is that a lot of snow for Allen? I have family near Houston, seems that they only got a few sprinkles that melted.
"GHOTI". 'GH' as in cough; 'O' as in women; 'TI' as in function=fish. Now for something completely different...
On a previous post I had a sentence with these three words together: were here there
"ere" is common so why are they pronounced differently? Just another thing that keeps me awake at night.
rough, though, bough, cough, through - Mommy, make it stop!
Little known trivia, your ears and nose continue to grow thoughout your life. Why I can't fathom.
I think yer lyin' 'bout that. If I heard you right.Ears grow with hearing loss (all the better to hear you with) but nose growth is attributable to not telling the truth (Pinocchio) or so I've "heard".

What I have now is a nice Lands End that I got about 15-20 years ago. The main z-i-p-p-p-p-p-e-r has some issues so I want to get that replaced, and the outer layer has some wear from seta belt rub. My preference it to take care of the zipper but I think I still want a back up and also something not so dark (very dark Brown).Warm winter coats are tough. Pay a lot for a really good one and it will last though your life if you take care of it. I've had a comfortably larger one for 15 years and it's as good as new even though I wear it every day.
I am not young. The key here is to buy larger than you need when you are young.

I had a down coat (and sleeping bag) way back when. How is it that a duck has no problem when their down gets wet? When I was a kid, I bought a down filled NOS military surplus coat for $25. It was really warm and lasted for many years. Not a big problem but it was army green.
As menyioned below, what?I can attest to the ears. And my hearing has really taken a hit...go figure.
How ever didNow for something completely different...

...could it actually be because you've never been in the military that olive drab is a color you don't mind seeing?I was never in the military but there is something that I really like about olive drab.
good point. I guess that I will never know. I do have a coat or two that are not military issue but are olive drab. Me like!...could it actually be because you've never been in the military that olive drab is a color you don't mind seeing?Although I spent my career working in naval aviation and still like gray and navy blue (which many would try to argue is black)...
