Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Troubles at school. There is flooding in the band room from snow melt so no rehearsals there for at least two weeks. The pic the director sent shows about an inch of standing water. All of the amps are on the floor. The drum set is on a riser. Don't know if any equipment was damaged. He said the room has flooded before but not this bad. Apparently the flooding problem was never fixed. D'oh!

We have a gig around the end of March which gave us five rehearsals. That's been cut to three if we can't find an alt location at another campus. Then there is the covid distancing to figure out. Everyone in the class plays pretty well. If they practice enough we'll be good.

That's unfortunate. I hope that they're taking immediate action to dry out the amps and any other equipment with fans before rot sets in.

Finally got out of the house today to run an errand and do my walk/jog. We found this gal the other year for doing exercise at home. Pretty wide variety of workouts. Some are easy and others kick our butts. She's pretty cute so that helps!

Of course when I finished the walk, I selected a 1909 from this collection. That might have cancelled out part of the walk.

It's a magical place.

Always wanted to go to Tahiti especially since we learned the meaning of "beach bum". I got to go to a computer conference in Ft Lauderdale in '88 and my wife got to come along on the company's dime. Every day after stuff was done we got a drink and sat on the beach or stood knee to waist deep in the ocean. Late April, temps in the mid-80s. Didn't want to do anything else. That's when we "got it".

Tahiti is expensive if you're stranded there.

A guy I went to school with had square rigger experience and booked working passage on a sailboat to Australia. Picked up coin shearing sheep, and booked working passage on another sailboat as far east as Tahiti. That's as far as he got. More than half a world from home, he was obliged to call his father ...

Sirius XM Deep Tracks playing. We've had it in the Honda since 2013. Like it but it's kinda pricey - $131/year for music. The Corvette had the XM radio but didn't want to pay another 131 for it. Last year we got an offer for the Corvette for $120 w/monkey business charges - THREE years for everything they have plus streaming. Yeah, that was a pretty good deal!

Completeness, maybe. Insurance, maybe. Maybe something else a little more complicated. Got my bass recorded with - Serials Pre-EB Sting Ray

Pictures, and all.

Pre-EB STING RAY
(1976-1984)

Alas poor Ray! Such a short life. A nice looking instrument. Headstock with flair. Strings running straight to the tuners to avoid any binding at the nut. A body with seductive curves. A strong pickup.

Those old Music Man amps are solid.

Yes they are! I've still got my HD-130 head and 212-RH cab. I gigged them for years. After I stopped touring with my SVT and 810, I knew I'd be doing mostly one-nighters in smaller venues and this was a great amp for that. I'd still be using it if not for the shlep factor with my 70 year old damaged body.

Funny, or not so funny, how that goes...
