When I was much younger, I did gigs at old folks homes (can we say that, here?). I suppose the Sugar Pills (yeah, sure, buddy!) was playing to a kindergarten class, or something.

I just watched a Heart-less interview!
Nancy is a good teacher. She has a way about her that makes it easier to learn. She's done some instructional videos on web sites and a DVD

Ya' know, that used to be a very valuable (say $25,000, or so, to someone - not me) vintage Art Deco table..........
So, in other words, almost as invasive, but not quite as much?
Vintage - yes, valuable - no. We think it was made in the '40 or '50s. There were no mfg marks or tags. The table and chairs were mostly unusable. They were not made for tall people. The joints in the chairs work loose over time. I repaired them a couple of times but always had a feeling they would fold up on you. We have the matching hutch and will never get rid of it. Nice piece and it's practical.
She's done a couple of great interviews in Vintage Guitar over the years. She is quite the gear-head!
I have some pieces with no shop marks on them; a C. 1910 Charles Stickley #1599 trestle library table, a C. 1903-1904 Gustav Stickley #604 lamp table, and a C. 1920 J. M. Young #494 settee.
My previous GOF post on page #2006 reminded me of this past post in this thread. It seems that I get grumpier by the day. Just for the record, the child in the link below was not ugly. But her mother was molding her to be ugly on the inside.

Oh hey I'm due for a new colonoscopy in just three years!
The stereo stand project turned into a coffee table project today. My wife was looking at my outstanding work and liked it for a coffee table. There is some sentimental attachment to the former kitchen table and we've wanted a smaller coffee table. She will be able to see it and use it everyday now. Works for me since I had thought about using the old coffee table for the stereo.
Project went from 50% complete to about 85% complete since I don't have to make bottom rails, shelf, and side/back panels. I'll cut the original top to fit the downsized frame. Pics as of today. coffee table
The old coffee table needs a little attention. Joints are a little loose after almost 40 yrs and I think I'll take it back to the original oak.

After my brother's divorce we visited his Texas girlfriend's house for his surprise birthday party. The rifles & shotguns leaning against the posts on each side of her headboard were one thing. But, all the curly-qued rusty barb-wire all over the western carved headboard were definitely something else! Can't imagine why we never saw her again. She seemed very nice, ... ... to us!
