Weeze gots some excellent Chinese restaurants around here; come aahhnn down! We were just at one for Chinese New Years dinner last weekend (specially ordered dishes, not on the menu kind of thing), Asian Pearl.

Pearl Asian Kitchen | Restaurant | Shaker Heights, OH

Looks like they prepare Mo Po Tofu properly

Yes this is coffee I have here. There's half and half in it :hyper: The cast iron stomach and a black el mondo grosso coffee reside firmly in the past tense for me. That was the New York arriving at work ritual, usually preceded by a Jersey breakfast — egg, cheese, and Taylor Pork Roll on a Kaiser bun with a black coffee in a Styrofoam cup for the train commute.

The morning ritual in Milan is a cappuccino and chocolate croissant. And a caffè macchiato when I reach the office. The caffè macchiato incident gets a replay with gelato at teatime.

It's not even a contest, folks.

The wind is so cold today that my fridge doesn’t feel the need to run. Not a squirrel was seen this early morning in the woods. Got a wind burn on my face. The smaller birds also stayed in their nests, keeping warm was more important than eating at that hour. There were a few larger birds feeding after I whistled for them.

It’s supposed to be equally cold tomorrow. I’ll be breaking my car out of storage to go to the grocery. Nuts to this cold weather.

I savor my coffee (black) drinking. I like the feel of a proper cup or mug, the coffee aroma wafting up, the cautious first sip followed by an appreciative sniff of the aroma again before putting the cup down. I like the feel of the cup or mug's rim as I sip. It's a completely sensual thing, and that's even before I'm capable of speech in the morning. Getting that first half cup in me is a sacrosanct ritual. Only then will I tolerate conversation.

Coffee porn ^

That's usually the first thing I do in the morning after taking care of personal business. My usual is a wet cappuccino with chocolate chip cookies (which I just finished). I also like an Americano (fancy name for watered down espresso) and French Press both with nothing added. Starbuck's Verona is the coffee.

This is what I've told a couple of friends in the Chicago area in winter - Get one of these and point it south. Notice how the truck is moving AWAY from the snow.

The funny pages in the morning paper stopped being funny long ago :meh: Some of them were never funny. The only comic I glimpse briefly @ first coffee is Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.

Rose to-day to find clear skies and -8C air. I felt this before I read this because that's what letting the dog out is all about. Whatever the state of my personal needs, real or imagined, I take care of Odin first.

Also the BBQ's with the family. We've been pretty mopey through the winter. Labor Day seems the next bright spot for us. Maybe the country will get its act together and get everyone immunized before then and we'll develop herd immunity.

Likewise with my wife and I. We missed seeing our family in Canada last year and plan on an August visit if, of course, Canada lets us in .

Does 'dry Cappucino' mean you chew on the grounds?

At least The Far Side is online.

Many mango seasons ago, I read a story about a couple from North Dakota who retired and were moving south. Just before they got into their station wagon(remember those?), the man loaded their snow shovel in the back. The wife asked why he was taking it. He answered "when people ask 'What's that?', I'll know we're far enough south."

Mrs. Tango gave me the complete Far Side books for my last birthday and now I know that it is possible to have too much of a good thing.

My aunt handed 'Tiny Footprints' to my mom when we were at a cottage in Door County, WI on vacation- she didn't want me to know that it came from her, as if it would damage her image. If the saying had existed, I think my mom would have thanked my aunt for 'throwing her under the bus'.

One of my customers has a set of the books on his desk- when I saw it, I told him that Far Side is online and he thanked me.

It's one of the first things I check every day.

Would that I believe we are about done with snow for this season.

It's three years ago March 28 I had the knee replacements done. And I know I watched it snow from my room in rehab in April. I'm scheduled for a three-year followup appointment on the 30th. All this entitles me to wave a magic card when I'm in the queue for the metal detector.

The "comic" I enjoy most right now is the Sandman graphic novel series by Neil Gaiman.

Wait- minus 8°C? That's 17°F. We were below 10°F for almost two weeks! when it's 17 here, some people wear shorts and don't wear a jacket.
