Ice cream? :bag:

No problem in terms of dry mouth. The sugars that remain in your mouth cause problems. Alcoholic drinks late at night such as beer are not the best.

Pharmacies are full of dry mouth products. It’s quite a common thing.

Dry Mouth Oral Rinse

Xylitol gums make you salivate. They contain a sugar that the bugs on your teeth can’t digest. This can help substitute bad sugars with something else..

Don’t point your pinky up unless you have syphilis.

Quote:

The “pinky up” position may be about sexual disease.

One commonly held belief is that the court of Louis XIV in 17th century Paris was so rife with syphilis that a symptom became a sign of the upper class. One thing syphilis does is damage the joints of your fingers. After a few years, you are no longer able to bend your pinky finger. When holding a glass or cup, your pinkie will point uselessly at the ceiling. Extending the pinky may also have been a courtly sign to indicate one had syphilis (how civilized!).

The non-infected commoners aped the nobility.
Interesting theory...

You found the straw offensive but not the bubblehead?

I’ve never tasted coffee.

A café down the street sells variations on the coffee theme, like this. People seem to like these sort of things.

Dalgona Coffee » Hummingbird High
I think the problem is that hot liquids drunk through a straw are more likely to burn the inside of a person's mouth than simply sipping over the edge of a cup.

At least that has been my experience with trying to drink hot liquid through a straw. That's why I don't do it.
:speechless:

Makes sense. I wonder what happens when something goes down the wrong pipe and you break out into a coughing fit. It ain’t going to be pretty.

I savor my coffee (black) drinking. I like the feel of a proper cup or mug, the coffee aroma wafting up, the cautious first sip followed by an appreciative sniff of the aroma again before putting the cup down. I like the feel of the cup or mug's rim as I sip. It's a completely sensual thing, and that's even before I'm capable of speech in the morning. Getting that first half cup in me is a sacrosanct ritual. Only then will I tolerate conversation.

You’re well addicted.

Death Wish Coffee, World's Strongest Coffee (I don’t believe them.)

Carey gets dry mouth so she uses Biotin mouth spray. Works well.

Coughing fits. I've found that about after 65 having coughing fits makes me almost physically ill. It kind of hurts if I cough hard for more than a minute. We always have chilled water close by for that reason.

By March 9 we will have finished our 3 week immunity build up period for the two Covid-19 shots. We still don't plan on travelling until the fall. We had our first Sitkan die of Covid-19 but he was in another state and didn't get his shots. Every year we go to Oregon to see the kids and grandkids. I enjoy going to Best Buy, Fred Meyer, Walmart, Sizzler, Olive Garden and some authentic Chinese food. Guitar Center, mom and pop music stores, and taking the kids grocery shopping.

Also the BBQ's with the family. We've been pretty mopey through the winter. Labor Day seems the next bright spot for us. Maybe the country will get its act together and get everyone immunized before then and we'll develop herd immunity.

Meanwhile I have a bunch of very interesting GOF's with big hearts to keep me company. :)
