My mother, RIP, used to dislocate her shoulder every so often. She somehow learned to re-set it herself... with great agony. I usually had to leave the room.
I miss her. She passed in 1992.

There are many volunteers in the ER to put my father's dislocated shoulder back after 30 minutes travel on unpaved and secondary roads. He insists on morphine first.

From turning around to whack the kids in the back seat?

He was playing troll under the bridge when he fell in

Speaking of trolls... On a scooter trip in 2013, we spent the night in Manistique, MI. We were talking to a lady who lived in MI and she explained the difference between the UP (upper peninsula) above the Mackinac Bridge and LP (lower peninsula) below the bridge. She was from the UP and said her husband was below the bridge so he was a troll.

I like broccoli pretty well but not everyday. Batter it and deep fry it to take the edge off.
Yeah, all things in moderation. Of all the vegetables out there, broccoli is the least objectionable to me. I like it steamed as well (as Mr. beans does), with some shredded cheese on top of it.

But every blinkin' day? That's a bit much. :bag:

Les Paul Shaped Object

How does a Les Paul Shaped Object Live to Please a Significant Other unless you are selling it?

This is mine...Unlike many Gibsons, it isn't broken in half, it just naturally photographs that way.

It's a honey burst, the pick guard was removed, gold hardware and vintage knobs were swapped in, pickups are '57 Classic PAF's. Dates from the 80's as I recall.

All I can say is, I do what I'm told. I can deal with it with the right topping. It works very well with a mix of other veg.

Broccoli, Brussels sprouts and Butterbeans are right up along side floating bridges (well....almost) on my "Things that'll be made illegal and punishable by death" list when I am declared Ruler of all the Universe.....:meh:

I love Brussel Sprouts! My wife roasts them with garlic...mmmmm. Of course, I'll eat just about anything, as you can tell by my size when you see me. lol. Only "food" I won't eat is anchovies. Nasty, salty, fishy....aggghhhh:vomit: It's not food, it's bait!
I'd let this go except you're another lover of brussel sprouts, so I'll share an experience. I used to feel the same way about anchovies. Until I spent a year working in Spain. One of my favorite appetizers became tomatoes with anchovies. The tomatoes were from Zaragoza. Good size. Splotchy pale red and light green. Better tasting than any tomato I'd ever eaten in the States. Sliced onto a place. Striped with alternating fresh and preserved (still better than the tinned ones we get here) anchovies. Drizzled with a good EVOO, then some cracked pepper. Superior food! The fresh anchovies were delicious, and the preserved ones were decent. The combined flavors were quite good. But I still won't eat the ones here in the States. Once I get to France, I'll be living about 2 hours north of Spain on the Atlantic coast. All the great French food, plus easy access to the Spanish food I grew to love!

Oh, wait. This is supposed to be a grumpster's subforum. OK. Back on topic.

F'ing pandemic. I want my Long Stay - Visitor visa...and I want to be able to use it!

Well [colourful expression] I'm counting three doctor's appointments in the next ten days, and at least one call to another :roflmao: and it is to laugh because if we thought about it ....

Thoughts and prayers. [I'm not a politician, so I can say that with a straight face.]

Now I'm not going to feel so bad about driving 1.5 hours each way to get my second Moderna stab this morning. Of course, I left there with a new appointment. I get to make the same drive so the bloodsucker at the VA CBOC (community-based outpatient clinic) in Flagstaff can do his/her job. At least my doc appointment is via video conference. I'm currently renting in Prescott, 15 minutes from the VA hospital here, but I still need to use the CBOC I was being treated through. Moving out of the country, so I'm not going to make a temporary change and hope nothing falls through the cracks.

Yeah I'm not quite that remote, but there are several places, close by, that are. Once I retire, I plan to get as far away from the hustle and bustle as possible.
That's how I grew up. Last house at the end of a dirt road. Next house was 1.5 miles back. One holer out back. Well pump handle at the kitchen sink. Rain catchment system. I was 5 years old before I saw any kids other than my younger brothers. Ran away from home when I was 4. They found me about 5 miles down the road, pulling my Radio Flyer wagon with my dog (a cocker spaniel named Laddy)

No water. No food. No money. No plan.

No problem!

I was 37 when they finally told me that story (I have no memory of it). When they found me, they asked me where I was going. They said I pointed forward down the road. When they asked my why, I pointed back to where I'd come from and said "because I'd tired of that way!"

SO proud of myself!
