With the different zones we have.. not sure now.. but a person could if he had the time and the wherewithall to do it.. could bag limit in each zone and come home with 12 dear a year in my state!
Yeah.. i am sure you can.. but how does go in the thick underbrush or in a slew? Let alone some of the steep sided hills here.
They need a bounty here. More deer than habitat. Had one cross over my hood last year at 70 MPH which I rarely drive. He went into a car coming towards me. All I saw was deer butt and feet. Big deer butt. I heard him hit the other car and he did not go over. I had swerved right half into the ditch not wanting to dance with him, also not wanting to dance with power poles I pulled back to the left and crossed the highway into a plowed field, but close to a gravel crossroad, made it there and there were a lot of cars stopped. I've seen all the dead people I need to see so I drove on to mom's house 3 or 4 miles on. Parked in the back driveway and washed the field dirt off so my mom wouldn't freak out. Everyone does 65 to 80 on that section of highway when the corn's down. There was several people killed on the corner where I turn off to mom's just when I was a kid. I usually take county roads around it if I'm not in a hurry. Nut heads. Including me that day.
When you here of black bears walking round in town.. they are over populated too! But yes.. here, because of the scaled back quotas during hunting season.. now the state is over run with em.. same as the turkey.. they are everywhere.. i can remember seeing quail and grouse, but when the released turkey started reproducing they ran the other birds out of the area!
I think the quail are gone here. I've got the scatter barrel too. Haven't seen them since I was a kid. Turkeys all found the state parks where it's safe and will walk up and talk to you. Coyote is a problem, nasty rabid like k-9 vermin.
The only time i have ever had turkey walk up near me is when they were running around chasing the grasshoppers and didn't realize i was standing there.. it is hard to stand absolutely still!

There's the snakes. We've had an outrageous situation this year with all varieties of rattlers. Getting into houses, silent ones striking people and pets, even found a baby diamondback in front of the door to my outdoor classroom where I 'work' during the school year.

What is with the new posting format?.. i posted the previous message and it took me to a different page to post the message.. then with this one.. it was all normal again.. what is with all of that!
Sorry but I don’t get the love of lethal weapons. In my mind it’s one of the USA’s biggest problems. How many more kids and young people have to die before these things are banned?
Ok.. lets ban motor vehicles.. knives, forks, hammers, chainsaws, baseball bats, tire irons, putty knives, chisels and the list goes on and on.. i am sorry, but rational thinking is not based upon emotions.. i am not attacking your way of thinking.. i understand.. it isn't the devices that cause the problem.. it is people that cause the problem.. oh .. lets ban people.. that should solve the problem..
