That advice must come from a very bitter person who hates babies, puppies and kittens!

That's why they came up with fuel injection, right?
A story you old farts will appreciate...
For next year's state fair, I have been contracted to perform a Roman Gladiator segment with my big gray horse, including a chariot. Typically I train for a different show every year (this year was a pirate segment, complete with ship and fireworks).
Going through the list of things to do, I have figured out what is going to be the most difficult for this old fart to do...
1. Train the horse to pull the chariot? Nope, this should be straight forward, I taught my horse how to learn quickly.
2. Building the chariot? Nope, I have a good fabrication shop so building pretty much anything is pretty easy.
3. Costumes? From my touring theatre work I hooked up with a pro costume woman who totally rocks.
4. Music? I have this easily covered.
The hardest part is going to be losing 10 pounds because nobody wants to see heavy gladiators!
I completely forgot about this, haven't seen it in ages. Now I see that I am going to waste a couple of perfectly good hours on productive entertainment!!! Thanks
Did I say I hate imbecile band leaders? My last band was run by such an imbecile! I was getting too many complements on my playing so I got dumped. He auditioned two players at my last gig. They used my amp and my bass. I thought it strange that folk wanted to stand in but didn’t bring an instrument.

I like that. The more you own, the more they have to like you. I plan to do similar, own the PA, the instruments and everything. With my skills I'm lucky it's not financially part of my retirement, so I will own the audience. If they don't like me, they can GET OFF MY LAWN!I found the best solution to this was I have always been the band leader. Own my own P.A. Transportation. Lights. I book the gigs. I write the songlists. But even better than that, I love doing my solo act as a guitarist/singer. it's not as much fun as sitting in and doing weekends with some of the great musicians around town. But as a single I have total control. Course I have to sing all night!
