Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

They are such a delectable seasonal treat. I haven't 'hunted' them for years. I do without picking up ticks & chiggers by giving an old friend a call and ordering a pound or two...

A younger man might enter the woods in search of chicks and tiggers.

Can you do a hard reboot of the TV? Unplug for a few minutes after shutting down, then restart. On some TV's reboot is accessed through menus. Otherwise, google for secret keystrokes for your set. This can put you into service mode which provides additional menus.

I did some consulting with Professor Google and he found that A LOT of people are having the same issues. Evidently it's something that Amazon will have to patch PRETTY QUICKLY I hope.

@Morrighan did you hear about the dyslexic that walked into a bra?

He asked for his beer to be poured into two cups?

Here @Morrighan, I'll post it myself:

I told politely requested the reunion committee to go pound sand kindly remove me from the mailing list when they sent a card alleging that it had been a quarter century since I graduated. Imbeciles! Terrible at math.

I am told, by those who still like to go to such things, that the groupings are now by decade, for the reason you note.

I still say that with every one of these things they announce, they just get worse at math.

I think you're on to something with that. Class lines got blurred in the (musical) ranks, for sure.

Funny in a way, but I know some 80 year-olds for whom the reunion was given for the entire school, as in, absolutely anyone who ever attended it, ever. The reunion wound up being 8 people around a table.
The school I attended in Miami has(had?)what's called the Miami Edison Over The Hill Gang. Every 2 years there'd be a big reunion for everyone who'd 'gradiated' from the school, so we'd have people from classes back to the late 40's. Bit by bit, the numbers were getting smaller each year what with people no longer able to make the trip from all over the U.S. to Miami, and also those who'd passed on. Each year 2 classes would be honored for their 50th. Last year it would have been the classes of 69 and 70. Didn't happen for some reason.
It was interesting going to my 50th(2014)and seeing who showed up and who was even slightly recognizable. Strangely-or maybe not-some of the same cliques were still acting the same way. They may have grown older, but not up. In general the band members are/were less divided.
The school's demographics changed dramatically after 1970, and those 'kids' aren't interested in keeping it going. I'll be surprised if there are any more of the "Big" reunions, just individual classes in smallish get-togethers.

Keep blowin' down the road, man... ;) I've been watching some Skynyrd documentary lately. Buying that Convair was a bad decision compounded by (their road manager's, I assume) deciding to fly it to the mechanics for much-needed repair instead of flying in the mechanics to their location.
Nobody was burned in the crash 'cos there was no fuel. And no excuse.

Attended a "reunion" for knee replacement patients. StoopidWildAzzGuess says there are about 80 of us in the hospital dining room. So subtract spouses and SOs and it's still easy to hear the cash register ringing. My tablemates voted I take the flowers.

I was working 11-7 the night the plane crashed and heard it about 4am, Van Zandt was a great lyricist, the world lost a great one.

I was on evening watch in the Coast Guard, listening to the local FM rock station on a frequency counter when they broke into the programming for a 'special announcement'. I was stunned and bummed. I did get to see them in '74 and heard "Sweet Home Alabama" before it began playing on the radio.

Home from a road trip to see my sis and daddy-in-law. Good visits. All doing good and all have been shot. We took the Corvette but no top down since we ran interstate most of the way there and part of the way back. We spent the night in Hot Springs, AR then took backroads home. We had rain most of the day. Traffic has really increased on I-30 the past few years. This was probably the last time we'll run interstate. The trip yesterday from Hot Springs didn't take much longer than interstate, less stress, and much better scenery. About 1100 miles round trip. We usually take two days each way.

Saw some discussion earlier about class reunions. My 50th is next year. We had a 10, 20, and 40. Pretty good time at each one. The clique stuff has mostly worn off with time. The class was about 150. At the 40th there were about a dozen no longer with us. It will be interesting to see how many I don't recognize. :roflmao:

If you guys think I'm going back to read all of the past day's posts, you've got another thing coming!
