Nothing planned this weekend. Same as nearly every other weekend the past 14 months. Might wind up going to Mrs. Tango's mom's house for dinner one evening, just to keep the old lady's mind cranking over. She resumed her personal training sessions at the rec center this week, and got an assessment for in-home occupational therapy. Her cleaning lady is now vaccinated, so has returned. All of that stuff is good for her mind, recovering the socialization that she lost in the pandemic. She's much more animated after her training sessions, for example.

I've noticed myself, just in playing two rounds of golf lately, that I barely remember how to talk to people who aren't family or doctors. Saw lots of people I knew at the course today, could remember most of their names. That year+ of isolation took its toll. I'm glad to be dipping a toe back in the water.

I'm with you @Charlie Tango, toes are the first step ;).

I was in the Class of 1970. Our 50th would have been 2020. They're beginning to roll the years together to get more than a dozen. Although many of the people i've grown up with still live in town, I never attended even one reunion. I almost did on our 20th but when I saw the list of who was attending there were some high school jocks that were ***holes in school and I wasn't interested in finding out if they ever grew up.

Part one of today is done, part two in one hour. Hey this retirement freetime practice is going pretty good! :smug: I might learn to like it after all! At 69, half of the staff at the city look like babies to me anymore. Especially the cops!

Doing something kind of out of the ordinary tonight. We're having our traditional payday dinner--me steak and Carey Clam strips. Just because we bought all the stuff last Friday but were too tired to cook. So--guess who's cooking tonight-- yours truly.

There were 160 of us at boarding school
very isolated
we got dial telephones the summer before my first year
I know of a couple who've passed on. Been out of touch.
I've purposely stayed out of touch. I've run into a couple of the kids I graduated with, but I mostly hung out with kids that were a year or two ahead of me. I think that had a lot to do with being a band nerd.

Mostly I hung with kids a year ahead of me or a year behind me.

I've heard of clam soup, fried clams, but not clam strips. Google helped, I think that I understand what a clam strip is...

Private school is something very different. You were banded together like in the military. The grunts vs the officers.

Stopping short of saying it is fun. It's here where I'm introduced to Kafka. Looking through a more objective lens of time, might call it formative.

I told politely requested the reunion committee to go pound sand kindly remove me from the mailing list when they sent a card alleging that it had been a quarter century since I graduated. Imbeciles! Terrible at math.

I am told, by those who still like to go to such things, that the groupings are now by decade, for the reason you note.

I still say that with every one of these things they announce, they just get worse at math.

I think you're on to something with that. Class lines got blurred in the (musical) ranks, for sure.

I guess when you start getting up in years, the Reunion theme will lean toward this....
Funny in a way, but I know some 80 year-olds for whom the reunion was given for the entire school, as in, absolutely anyone who ever attended it, ever. The reunion wound up being 8 people around a table.
