Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Fun with salespeople.

I went to H&M this evening to look for underpants. I don’t know why they only sell three packs.

In old geezer deadpan I said to the salesgirl, if I buy one pack does that means that I don’t have to wear underpants four days a week. She suggested that I buy three packs and have two spares. I asked her if I looked that old that I would need two spares in a week. She suggested that I would only have to do the laundry every nine days. I said that I wouldn’t want to wait that long. I asked if I could get a quantity discount, buy seven and get two free. It seems that they don’t, you’re expected to buy three packs. I bought one and we’ll see. At least they don’t have someone else’s name on the waistband.

I then went to the TV store. Business is slow downtown, I managed to talk them down $400 plus free delivery and setup.

A successful shopping trip.

 You know you can turn them inside out and get two days out of a pair. Why is it a "pair"? It's only one garment. If it's because of two leg holes why isn't the waist hole counted? Should be called a triplet of underwear if anything and that also aligns with three in a pack. Man, I have a lot of stuff that keeps me awake at night.

Who knew. Like women's slacks of the 50's, they sell what are called back zipper jeans.

Amazon.com : back zipper jeans

Why are women's clothes complicated? Zippers or buttons on the back or side. Blouses button from the opposite side. Why is that? A factory that makes shirts and blouses probably has to hire left and right handed workers and have left and right handed machines. Life sure is a puzzlement...

Aw, come on... You know you want to. You fingers are tapping on the keyboard, just itching to form words. You'll feel better at first, then you'll second guess what you wrote, you'll want to change it but the edit time has passed which ticks you off even more but that doesn't matter since someone has already quoted it.

Ya, then you get kicked of TB!

Women’s clothing with fasteners in the back, or on the left side, dates back to when women of means, had chamber maids who helped them dress. Clothing included corsets, bustles, multi button dresses, etc.
Clothing continued to be designed in that way, even for women of modest means, to give the appearance of being able to afford chamber maids.
Not sure why I remember that, maybe it’s just the idea of women in corsets!

I really wish that couriers would go back to knocking on the door and providing in-hand service. They can only get away with this covid excuse for so long.

I like a good dog.

They have dropped packages without interaction long before covid. Sometimes they knock or ring the bell but don't wait if no signature is required.

Dog thing - funny and scary! I love how the dog just sat there and looked out. That person won't be back. Just stick the card in the door and leave instead of looking in.

Many moons ago, I had an Illinois vanity plate with "XXIXII" on it. Nobody seemed to get it.
You're not the only one. I once had a Euro front plate made to read "1001001," and usually got strange looks and puzzlement, even in Toronto! When someone did get it, we knew we had found "our people." :D

Have you ever met an uncomplicated woman?

Yes, yes, I know... I will scold myself:

WLW in Cincinnati is still authorized for 500,000 Watts. During the day, they use 25,000 Watts and crank it up to 50,000 at night. Since they are one of 5 national emergency radio stations (a hold over from the Cold War) they can boost the signal to 500,000 Watts. Their tower is about 3 miles from where we live. There are US Army soldiers stationed there round the clock and the entire area is cordoned off with concertina wire fencing.

I made a mistake when I wrote WLS.

A sentient AI is nothing compared to a woman. Nothing.

Today's intent starts with bloodwork. Drive to the little hospital just down the street and find many ailing seniors in line ahead of me.
Naaah.
Drive to the big hospital. Seated in the waiting area across from a woman who is (I'd estimate) 8+ months into her pregnancy. I see her expressions as she's looking in my direction when I realize I'm seated directly under a (muted) television :meh:

Off to the grocery, where I know at this hour there are still breakfast sandwiches available at the coffee counter. A scrambled egg, sausage, and cheese on an English Muffin is how I break my fast. Look up and there is the very same pregnant lady taking a seat

and I wonder what was that all about?

The double latte from the coffee roaster that came back with me is done and now

and now?

When I order electronic parts, they always came signature required. FedEx suspended that option during covid.

Good dog!

Bad for front door! :D

Was she still looking in your direction? If so, pretty kreapie!

Replace that welcome sign with a "Beware Of Dog" equipped with a motion censor of said dog's "welcoming" voice. GOF's should mount this on the lawn as well.
