Yes and thanks! Found them on ebay 20+ yrs ago. Both were working. Both have been given considerable love. I can't believe the prices these things are selling for particularly the ST70. I think I paid 385 for the ST70 and about 100 for the PAS3.

I updated the ST70 with the Triode Electronics driver board and the SDS cap board. I added bias balance and cleaned up the wiring a little on the last love session. On the PAS3 I replaced all of the components, input selector switch, fabricated the input jack panel. I popped for the Dynaco branded Telefunken 12AX7s before they became so expensive. I paid about 100 for four of them 20 yrs ago. More recent upgrades are the SDS power supply board and replacing both circuit boards.

Nice, the middle tube (driver?) made me question whether it was an ST-70 or not. I was looking at them on ebay the other day as i have the preamp (needs upgrading) but I have so much stuff now I wouldn't know what to do with it. I have a Fisher 400 at home waiting to be recapped. My brother-in-law out here just gave me some nice Pioneer separates, SA-9500, CT-950, other stuff. I have a big Marantz receiver I've had for years etc.

Thanks much! I've been busy in the non-internet world. I finished a long & involved work project here at Fort Winslow, essentially (re)gaining a whole room in the place. Lo and behold, even after all the cleanup was done and tools put away, all of a sudden, there was more stuff that needed doing within said room. So... no rest for the, uh... something or other.

Yeah, I saw that before, but work would never allow it on their stable of G-Rated emojis.

ha. I had that album, and it was much-worn. You've seen the strap that came new with my bass 42 years ago? I can't use it now, it's not safe. The leather spent too much time without proper leather care. Because = me. It's the most comfortable strap I own. Here it is next to a similar strap in white from Franklin that's discontinued. Not. The. Same. Close.

It's a button. No clue where it came from. I've an odd collection of buttons "from the time" including a Nobody for President 1980 button (Wavy Gravy's campaign), and a "High Society of Boston" button. That one was probably a record store or something.

The black Music Man strap is retired, and the button with it. The two belong together.

He's an engineer and owns a construction company out here and he's not hurting for money, he just ordered a McIntosh MC2152 150 Watt per channel tube power amp, I think they're something like 15 grand, I probably would have gotten an MC275 if I were him but hey if ya got it!

60 watt mono tube amp, I had one years ago, nice amps. I think Sunn used them for their first bass amps.

I gotta say, though. Richard Pryor used 'MF' in ample amounts and, after a few times it lost it's toxicity and just became an expression like 'dude or doggone' but with more of a touch of his indigenous culture. You'd expect him to talk this way. I don't think that his material relied heavily upon it for making his stories humorous. ....my opinion. I could watch his entire show without the feeling of alright, enough already.

I will say this. You can say MF too many times. Back when the Richard Pryor stand-up film was released (after his release from the hospital from setting himself on fire), I went to the midnight showing at the local theater. He said MF SO many times during that routine that I walked out. Not because I was offended. No. Because I was bored. At the time, it just seemed like a way to stretch 30 minutes of material into a feature length film.

But I was there for the funny bit where he lit a match and bounced it from left to right and said something about him running down the street. At least he was able to have some fun at his really stupid expense.

Yep. I and my then business partner went to it after we closed up one evening. The funny bits were definitely great, but when we left we agreed we were bored silly.

My favorite TV show of of all time is The Honeymooners, they were all funny but especially Jackie Gleason, just makes me laugh even looking at him sometimes, maybe anticipatory pleasure?

One season. 39 episodes. '55-'56. I was 5. More into the Cisco Kid and Lone Ranger.

Gleason's follow-up show, American Scene Magazine, (the live one that moved to Miami Beach in '64) was great. His "Joe the Bartender" skits with Frank Fontaine ("Crazy" Guggenheim) were special. One monologue I'll never forget was interrupted by none other than Jimmy Durante. Jackie's girls brought out another director's chair and a drink for him. Jimmy talked about just arriving from Chicago, where'd he met an amazing new talent, with measurements of 48-24-36. Gleason got a little bug-eyed and asked what she did. Dead-pan, Jimmy answered "she crawls out on stage and tries to stand up." Gleason just f'ing lost it! Geez, but live TV back then could be fun!
