Yes, but since every joke has someone/something as the 'butt' of the story, ppl are overly sensitive to damn near everything.
Yes, and the basis for much comedy is anger, and comedians can be some of the angriest people on earth. And people have indeed become touchy about so much. The ability to laugh at ourselves gets lost a lot.

I had the opportunity to work behind a coupla famous comedians in the 70s. Charlie Callas was a great guy(ex drummer), John Byner...uh, not so much.

Presale registration for Dead & Company opened, and I'm signed up. Come Tuesday they'll let me know for Wednesday's sales.

No admittance without a vaccination card period. Wonder if they'll check the name on the card against a photo ID?
That should make the line zip right along.:rollno:
Ooh, ooh! Business opportunity! Fake vax cards. (Prolly already been done)

I keep thinking I see a new thing in "how to be cool"...seems like the new trend in showing off is to find something wrong with everything anyone has, does, makes, sells, or says. Anyone else see this, or am I just being a GOF?

I’m expecting to see a summer of discontent amongst the throngs. People are getting nasty. Pent up frustration is finding a release.

No you're are correct, and with the anonymity, provided by on line platforms, it's getting worse.

I do, and think it's because so many people are unhappy with themselves for whatever reason. Looking inward is too painful, so they look for relief by mocking someone or something else. Snark and meanspiritedness have replaced good-natured kidding.

Nailed it!

Yes, but I saw him live 3 times. He was funny with an occasional 'word'.
I gotta say, though. Richard Pryor used 'MF' in ample amounts and, after a few times it lost it's toxicity and just became an expression like 'dude or doggone' but with more of a touch of his indigenous culture. You'd expect him to talk this way. I don't think that his material relied heavily upon it for making his stories humorous. ....my opinion. I could watch his entire show without the feeling of alright, enough already.
