Something strange (stranger than usual?) going on within this GOF club... Don't know if it's a virus or what but if I try to connect to this club via a TB notification link in my gmail my PC shuts down! And it's only this club! All my other (varied and plentiful) gmail notification links to other TB threads, other clubs, work just fine..??

I just ran my virus protection program scan and it says my PC is OK... I can connect to this club OK thru using a direct TB link, but whenever I try it thru TB's gmail notification link there's a problem! -and only with this club??!! Anyone else here have this?

Nothing should shut down your PC, it could crash gmail. I've never tried using gmail TB notification. I do use gmail though. First thing to try is checking if you have the latest version of email. Run gmail and click on about within gmail. It will tell you if there's an update available.

Next step is to log a help desk call on TB. Click on "Contact Us" at the bottom right of the page. Include with a description of the issue, the computer OS and gmail version numbers.

Maybe "Spooky" is the problem???

Today I looked out my front window and whaddya know, there was someone sitting on my front lawn. Technically speaking she was on the government grass, but I mow that so I consider it my lawn. I immediately thought of this thread and how this was perhaps the best opportunity of my life to yell "Get off my lawn!!!"

But I didn't. She was probably about 11, and just leaned against my tree and ate her lunch. Nothing there was hurting me any, so I let her be. After a while she made a phone call and then packed up her stuff and left. Slightly mysterious, but no harm no foul.

Next time, if you want her to move, tell her that every dog on the street pisses on that tree right where she's sitting. Then tell her that you'd thought she'd like to know. That way, you're being both friendly and hopefully getting her off your lawn.

There was no reason that she needed to move, except of course that every dog on the street does pretty much pee right there. I did think about going out and mentioning that, but I didn't want to freak her out and she wasn't hurting me any.

My first thought was "turn in your GOF card". Upon further reflection, have another cup of coffee and think about something you have never thought about before.

The world being what it is, maybe she was casing your property for a future break-in. Hopefully not.
