Good morning from Sitka. View from our neighborhood this morning. Mt. Edgecumbe's snowline is moving up quickly so we might have a nice warm summer.

Yeh I have a friend who extended her five month visit to Alaska to six months. Since I'm here, why not stay all night? she said.
Did weedeatery and mowed grass. Didn't need the bag. Had the trifecta with weather - hot, humid, no wind. The mower self propeller device was on for most of the yard.
Stupid Microsoft! An update applied today and now I have that stupid "My Feed" icon on the task bar. Can't find how to get rid of it. I left feedback expressing my displeasure and asking how to remove it completely. 
I wonder how many meetings they had to decide to put this crap on computers without asking?

Gorgeous! Here's where I'm moving (hopefully in July).
The house I'm building is walking distance from here.
From the top of the largest sand dune in Europe (Dune du Pyla). The Atlantic is to the left. The Arcachon tidal basin is to the right. Home to one of the top three oysters production areas in France. That's Cap Ferret across the water. It's about a 1 hour scooter ride around the basin to the little town you can see.

This isn't nearly as bad as what they did with DOS v4, where they added disk WRITE caching and turned it on by default. Many hundreds of dBase III databases got corrupted by that. My boss brought in his 17 year-old son over the summer. Some lazy engineers let him set up PCs we were installing real-time graphics and databases on for delivery to our SCADA customers. That cost me a TON of customer support and lost good will. His name was Itamar, so I of course referred to the problem as the Itamar bug in all of my internal Motorola correspondence. P'd my boss off.
He cared more about his son than he did about our customers.This is the same Itamar that convinced his mother to let him make a circular saw out of this electric motor he had. When he turned it on the first time, it was so unbalanced it went weaving through the air and dang near sliced his entire left leg off. Daddy had to get on a plane and come back to Chicago from Tel Aviv.
Got a ton of laughs from the engineers (the ones who were still able to laugh after I kicked their collective butts for letting Itamar touch customer equipment).

Very beautiful and good on you. I'm and Alaska Native and was born and have lived in Alaska most of my life. When I retire we will travel to Europe and Hawaii, but our home is Alaska. Carey said when she first arrived to Sitka she felt as if this was her home from the moment she stepped off the plane.
Where you're moving looks heavenly. I loved visiting France when stationed in Germany.

Annoying is watching Andy Griffith's take on baseball here (Ur-Goober), and an Andy Griffith "suggestion" appears on YT as I open it to sign on. A suggestion I like for Dave of the Real Fun Stuff fame is at the top of my feed and I'm okay with that because I subscribed without notifications.
I don't which is the lesser of two evils--FB or TB. Scary how everything you're interested in is advertised to you on almost all websites now. And I hate that ubiquitous "Sign up for our emails" pop up that opens and darkens your screen as if to challenge you to try and pass! Twenty years ago the internet was interesting and quaint. Now it's just a huge money monster and manipulator of the masses. Sorry, maybe I need a beer today......!

No, @alaskaleftybass, you summed it up perfectly. A beer will help to ease the pain but the problem is still there and growing.
