I forgot to mention that I am enjoying the other GOF's posting outdoor pics and their adventures. The canoe story and rescuing other canoers really had me laughing. @Morrighan there's something odd looking about the word canoers. Your thoughts? Am I just a bad speller or did I make up a word?

I was preparing some zucchini for a vegetable spaghetti sauce tonight.

I peel potatoes, carrots, zucchini, etc away from me. I don’t know, maybe because I’m left handed. I see some people peel towards themselves which seems dangerous.

There seems to he two camps, which is more correct.

Even in my GOF years I still love a good action movie especially if it's got military in it. When I was in the Army in Europe we had Vietnam era equipment, and in the field we ate cans of food heated in garbage cans filled with water. Our Fire Direction Control command center had three rudimentary computers that displayed range and direction in red LED one line displays.

I'm watching a movie about the war on terrorism in of course the Middle East, and I can't believe how well equipped the modern soldier is. The rifles don't even resemble the AR-15's we used. Transport vehicles are so well protected. The soldiers wear lightweight body protection and have video cams on their helmets. They are tracked on GPS which is fed to a drone or satellite and back to the command center in real time, and command center if full of advanced computers and viewing capabilities. Hopefully all this new technology will allow our men and women come home safely without losing a limb.

Boy what a different world we live in. Come to think of it, it would be nice if there was less military conflict in the world. Still, I enjoy the action movies!

No matter which era, the good guys always win.

I hated conjugation in school. The French are particularly picky.

For my money, Night Gallery was creepier than Twilight Zone and Outer Limits combined. There was a Night Gallery about a man who wanted to experience battle in the Napoleonic era.
Our mother made us watch it when we were kids. Product of our environment, and all.

My thought...it would be the camp that shows up less frequently in the Emergency Room to have fingers reattached or deal with abdominal trauma...

I peel towards if using a knife. Away if using a peeler.
