That not a heat shield, it looks like aluminum roof flashing that someone added. It serves as an RF shield in this case. Other that rattling, it will do the job.

If it is a v4B, the plate that Ampeg used was much stiffer. I have the spec somewhere.

The question is, why is your amp rattling so much.

It is a V4b, factory flimsy I guess. I have carpet under the amp and also cab to no effect.

Since it is not a heat function, a nice sheet of self adhesive rubber gasket should make nice

What ga was the old sheet? I can certainly make another

Well i’m back from the audition. Went well! I didn’t screw up anything too badly and the whole sounded pretty good. The lady singer has a great voice and I liked all the members. The session went on for a couple of hours and seemed more like a band rehearsal than an audition. They were supposed to have someone else audition after me but no one seemed to show. Probably an excuse if I had turned out to be a crappy player. Didn’t get to sing but they seemed confidant that I could sing backup. I told them that I also sing lead.

I guess now I wait!

So, moved an old Linux DAW project to the basement for my wife to play excercise DVDs. Im fine with excercise as long as she does all the work. Fired it up to check connections and sound quality. Web browswer had a youtube Rush play list so I played it. Fly by night came on and I noticed it had video. 20170107_203919.jpg

Glad you ditched the glasses Paul, but I realise they were in style in the early 70s!
