Sorry Ken. Got confused and thought they got both. Good you dont need dialysis now and hopefully ever.

I hope the DIY dialysis has improved since it first came out. It was a bit iffy 10 or so years ago.

Not anytime soon, unless the remaining kidney just stops...doc says it takes about 6 months to see how the leftover is gonna cooperate.

Of course stage 3 kidney failure is what startedvus down this path 20 months ago, so who knows...

Well, there was the time I got my vasectomy at the urologist's office. During the procedure he and I had each other laughing so hard with bad jokes that a nurse came in to see what was wrong. My wife just sat over in the corner shaking her head. Seeing wisps of smoke rising from your numb scrotum (can I use that word on Talkbass?) is a very surreal experience.

How's that?
:laugh::roflmao::woot::hyper:

Not so surreal as him cutting and me screaming. I discovered that I need a greater amount of freezing than normal folks! :(

My urologist was also a cutup, in more ways than one!

I felt the biopsy probe enter with a left hand on my left hip. Then a right hand landed on my right hip! Then, as the probe probed, there was snickering!! Actually, 2 distinct snickers!!! And I could turn my head enough to see that the male nurse was also there. I chuckled a bit until the probe got into place and ZAP!!!

Fortunately, I had been friends with them both for years before, since my wife worked there. They assured me they didn't run that act with any other patients. I never heard any comments from anyone else other than how professional they were, which I believe.

A few months after my radical prostatectomy, my wife and I visited a friend in the hospital. As I was holding my wife's purse while she went in a restroom, I saw my urologist coming down the hall. I quickly put the purse handle in the crook of my arm and struck a coquetish pose. As he approached I said, ''You did this to me!''. After literally helping him up off the floor and letting him catch his breath from laughing, I said, ''Gotcha back!'' He wrote off my bill and got the hospital to do the same, as professional courtesy to my wife.

That's been. 24 years ago, with an undetectable PSA and no complications at all ever since. No wonder I have trouble finding anything to be grumpy about.

Ken's Observations Today

1. I'm going back to work at my 'day job' today...no idea how long I'll be able to deal with it
2. The search function on music forums is the least used feature known to mankind
3. Interestingly, in my main gig I'll be alternating between bass and non pedal steel now.

@ZonieBass Then she would just answer, "Then it's been lost altogether." or something :D

BMP, damn, 3 strokes and your still smarter than me. I fear I am not far behind you. Thursday I felt my fingers were numb and thought I was going to need another injection for my wayward spine. Looked at my hands and my fingernails were all purple. Turned them over and the backs of many fingers were purple. Sat., wife was punishing me by entrapping me in a big box store. Trying to get her out, she insisted I help her find the right makeup! What do I know about makeup!?!?!?! Well there might have been a couple of times, but I didn't know what I was doing. So I start reading labels in an attempt to escape the horrid place. Anyway, every time I stood up, I about passed out from hypotension. My doc calls me a walking heart attack.

Ken, I do #1 M-F. Yesterday they beat me down by 11:00 AM and I stopped trying. I might be there after a good beat down, but my mind isn't :D 11 AM is pretty good, especially for a Monday.

I’m a tad grumpy today! :( Had to see the skin guy who had fun with his little spray of liquid nitrogen. I’l be wearing long sleeves for the next couple of weeks. I had an 11:20 AM appointment and got in to see him close to 1:30. I took a book but found I was falling asleep reading it.

On top o’ that we have wonderful freezing rain making walking a challenge. Roads were not too too bad but you had to be careful. We cancelled both of our afternoon appointments and stayed home. Made myself a cup of English Tea, a glass of milk for the lady and we shared a Scone. Yum. I’m still drinking the tea as I talk.
