Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Thinking of fonts; the latest Bass Player mag has changed it's fonts to a new tiny sugar ant size in many of its articles! If they keep this as standard I'll hafta reconsider renewing my subscription... T'aint like the web; you can't enlarge printed pages simply with a keystroke! And I refuse to read a magazine with a magnifying glass! :wideyed:
Instead of trying to jam so much onto a page they might consider using more judicious editing, or adding a page or two if needed... :help:

Must be a trend to save paper and lower printing costs.

Popular Mechanics has done the same then sometimes they have background shading on part of the page with the text going over the transitions then half of the text is really hard to read. Pretty obvious they don't read their own stuff. The mag had a big change a few years ago when Jim Meigs left as editor. Didn't care much for the changes but it was still pretty good. One of the goofiest changes was printing icons at the bottom of the page like it was a computer screen where you click something to go to the next page. Well, I pressed the icons and nothing happened. I called their support line to report the problem and they just laughed at me. That's not a good way to keep a customer.

They recently changed editors again. Not sure about this one either. They are apparently trying to target a younger audience. How dare them! After Meigs left they started having a section on various outdoor activities but it's a thinly disguised infomercial for companies to sell stuff. Going to cancel. My eyes can't take it any more. I've subscribed to it for probably 20 yrs.

AARP has found this thread. Haven't seen it before here. Again, they want you to click.

Could I talk to you for a few minutes about your extended auto warranty? How about selling your house? How about Medicare Advantage Plans? Did you know your Apple/Amazon/Microsoft account had unusual activity and will be locked unless you call?

Shaye Cohn is quite the BL!

A rare(er) Tuba Skinny with Defne "Dizzy" Incirlioglu on washboard.

Very cool! With a sousaphone solo, no less! The restaurant they are playing in front of is excellent! Couple of blocks from Jackson Square, with Café du Monde on the other side of the square.

It sure is an excellent Resturant! And…The Cafe du Monde…the breakfast of champions!

Hmm, another TB IT screwup happened by quoting someone other than the intended person's post! :rollno:

This is how it should have been:

Heard that Bruce Conte of Tower of Power fame passed away. He was a great guitarist.

If true, I am glad I finally got to see TOP a couple years ago.

...How about Medicare Advantage Plans?...
I met a couple times with a healthcare insurance broker to learn about Medicare. She was really pushing the HMO (Advantage) stuff and AARF AARP was the highest cost plan. So much for their "group rates" lowering the cost of coverage through them. :rollno:

If an insurance company advertises a lot on TV and claims low rates, you know that they’re probably going to be more expensive.
