What is it with these low flow plumbing products. It must be the law that you can’t have more than a light drizzle when taking a shower.

A while back I bought a Moen hand held shower head. I wanted the equivalent of a super soaker. I bought the highest flow rate model available. It was the only one, all the others are low and lower flow. Brought it home, it was pretty bad. Turned out that the hose end fitting was acting as a water restrictor. Drilled it out and it was way better.

Last weekend I bought another shower head, this one mounts on the pipe coming out of the wall. Bought the highest flow rate, again it turned out to be pretty low flow. Looked inside, found a restrictor insert and ripped it out. Works like a charm now.

I like enough water pressure in the shower so I don't have to use a lot of soap. As long as there isn't enough pressure to remove the skin I am fine.

I have done this for years to every new showerhead we get.

On our last Family Trip to California, the first hotel we stayed at had the most miserable water pressure I have experienced in quite some time.
So, I purchased a cheapo hand-held showerhead and removed the evil flow restrictor. I then replaced the hotel showerhead with the modded one, water pressure issue solved.

That cheapo showerhead will always travel with us from now on.

California seems to have the strictest regulation. Family couldn’t buy anything but a low flow toilet there. They found old style regular full flush ones in New York but they couldn’t find a retailer that would ship the product to California. They got their kids in NY to buy them and they shipped them to CA.

I’ve said for years that we need an ironic/joking/wink-wink/bustin’ your chops/takin’ the piss font around here!

When my older sister said she wanted to buy a motorcycle, our father said, Sure! But first, you're coming with me to work at the hospital (physical rehab), and I'll introduce you to some of my patients — just your age.

Hey, delighted to introduce any typographical adventurers to a few typesetters who learned their craft on a Linotype machine. Same thing ;)

One of the things publishers lost control over (IMO) is the medium. No way to tell who will read what on what device, at what resolution. Who can tell if the material will be read on a Kindle, or smrtphn, or printed with someone's prehistoric dot matrix printer? It's a long, slow slide to typographical perfidy.

There ya go. Fixed it for ya!:laugh::confused:

Also, TB's Forum Rule #1 says, in part, " ... Because of the limitations of text-based communication, the expression of intent can be tricky. One of the most common triggers of rule violations is the misinterpretation of intent behind a post. Use smilies often, and remember, it never hurts to begin a response with "In my opinion"..."

I keep a can of corned beef hash in the pantry for just those occasions.
Hash in the pantry. Good idea!
