My old Hofner 500/1 feels weightless relative to any other bass. It allows for a lot of freedom. It’s the only bass that can give me that hollow tone that I hear on Beatle songs. It’s good to have in the arsenal.

It’s 6AM and still dark out. Sigh.

Seems it was not that long ago you were commenting that it is 5:00AM and still dark. Yeah it is depressing going into this phase of the year from this aspect. I don't much like to go outside anymore when it is dark. I don't like to drive when its dark anymore.
Soon I will be complaining that it's so cold outside when just a few days ago it was uncomfortably hot and humid. My comfort zone is narrowing.

Picked up a Hofner Contemporary violin bass at a local brick and mortar within the past month or three. It was setup like pewp, but kind of fun to play. A bit like knowing a great guy who I'd never be seen with in public.

The older you get, the more the world around you shrinks. At some point, you don’t go out at all. Enjoy what you have while you can and keep in mind that the bubble around you keeps shrinking. Don’t waste a moment.

I don’t much like driving at night either, more safety concerns on city streets. I’ve had people walk out onto the street, cross red lights, while texting. Out in the country it isn’t unusual see dead skunks and racoons, even deer in the morning. The carnage from the night before.

I hear sad stories about garbage left all over mountains. I see it every day on my treks and don’t understand how people can be so thoughtless.

While we're on military related stories, a classmate failed his driving test 3 times. When he went into the Marines, they put him in the motor pool-as a driver.

First of the month, we'd line up in the hallway by the First Shirt's office (Augsburg) and get paid in cash. Those were not the days.

"Whole lot of faking going on" When We were on the bench, we worked in pairs...I depended on my buddy for that. Got to the war, they handed me a PRC25 and an M-14.
