They still use those in some schools. I’d like to have five minutes with that principal.

I was the receiver on a few occasions in middle school. ouch.

Conservative use of that method might contain behavioral problems. I learned not to do that particular thing again (and most anything) that got me there.

Does the paddle change that part who wants to do that particular thing? Kind of Clockwork Orange stuff there.

It’s funny how the brain works. A man hears a woman say, I’d like a quickie. What the woman claims she said was, I’d like a cookie. People wonder about the true meaning behind some Beatle songs. John lying in bed pleads, Give Piece a Chance. It could have a different context than folks realize. It depends on how you hear it.

Featuring Tommy Smothers on guitar.

Last I saw one in real time was 7-8th grade. They used to drill holes in it so that the air could not cushion it as it ripped your flesh to pieces.
My first elementary school (grades 1-4; 1957-1961) principal had and used one. My father loved the idea and bought a similar item that was branded "Board of Education". He thought that was hilarious. He used it regularly on us (myself and my 2 younger brothers; my sisters were too young) until he caught my brother Mark trying to saw the handle off of it. Beat him until the handle splintered off. The a$$wipe was a preacher, no less (Prussian Lutheran). The last time he whipped me, he broke his favorite leather belt on me. Changed my last name as soon as I could and avoided any contact with him as much as possible during my adult life. Missed my mother's funeral because he was still breathing. Didn't like him. Didn't love him. Didn't respect him. Really lousy way to grow up. Don't miss him one bit.

I hope each and every one of you had a more loving upbringing.

I was beaten at school and at home. It stopped when I had the strength to grab their arm and stop them. Bullies back down quickly when they know that they can’t hurt you.
