I hope he kept his receipt for that haircut...I think he can still get a refund.....

I don't know....maybe the trimmer stopped working before the top was finished?.....:unsure:

It belatedly occurred to me some while ago (probably because of posting to this thread) that I still dress the same way as I learned to dress in boarding school. Only in retirement did I notice this. And to this day, probably overdress for most places. I don't mind. Have loosened up a little but nobody has seen me in jeans since I was 12. I don't even own jeans :bag:

Totally missed that one. I was wearing business suits, ones just slightly better than what my clients typically wore. No way someone's gonna pay me over 4 bills a day if I dressed like that.

He had to pull up his sleeves if he ever wanted to read the time on his oversized chronograph with the very thick leather NATO strap.

One of my very fine employers is/was notoriously conservative. We were always expected to dress slightly better than our clients. I had a colleague written up for a dress code "violation" for a blouse her supervisor didn't like :sour: If it felt like vindictiveness, it probably was vindictiveness. But who will contest that? Especially when there are bills due ....

There is no way I could go to work today in what I'm wearing now. But I'm way overdressed for the supermarket.

A lot of companies still have dress codes. Law firms and court, offices, schools, airlines, restaurants. Even some retailers hold a beginning of shift inspection.

A FA friend tells me of how great she felt walking to her plane when TWA had the sharpest uniforms in the industry.

Knee jerk reaction is most pre-retired folks have no need to go to the office. We really can do our jobs remotely. Of course bosses aren't bosses if they can't supervise. And entire budgets are scaled to the number of square feet a department uses.

All my work clothing went to charity when I retired. However I still own and wear clothes that could be on that list of clothes for work. Black pencil skirts. White blouses. The difference now is I can wear these things to the "jazz" gig and look perfectly in place. A gown required for some. <shrug>
