I used the Fedora music spin that included all the DAW stuff, but when I downloaded a newer release, it seems they have just updated packages and not made it just work without fiddling.

KXStudio seems to just work. I have a good desktop for it, but it seems to hate my hardware RAID. Haven't had time to work on it while I actually feel like working on a computer after a full day of it. Really haven't been up to do doing much of anything this year :(

I don't mind the presence of the ads, but targeted advertising just annoys me. I kind of resent the companys tracking everything I look at. I understand that Sweetwater is going to keep track of everything I look at on their website, but make an effort to track the items that I buy and don't try to sell them to me again.
I guess I'm really feeling like a GOF today. Watching my wife have to get an injection in her eyeball tends to do that.

A family member is going through eye injections, for the second time. The first round didn't work. Not a plesant experience.

GoogleAdsense is invasive and puts me off. They track where you go a d use that information to funnel adds onto your screen. Clearing your browser cookies often helps. On the negative side, clearing cookies means that you have to re-log into sites such as TB. TalkBass knows that adds are irritating, that's why they turn them off for Gold Members.

My wife has to get one every seven weeks, but they're working for now in that they're halting the degeneration in her one functioning eye that will eventually leave her pretty much blind. She says she's gotten used to them, but I can tell she still stresses for a couple days before an injection, partly because of the injection and partly because we never know if the exam will yield good or bad news. She's far tougher than I am though. I'm with her all the way, but still can't watch the injection. She doesn't have a choice.

I run script blocker instead. Google sucks your brain out by scripts. I still get the banner ads from TB, but not any google ads. NoScript in Firefox works well. You have to allow some of the scripts to run if the site doesn't work. I start with the site's address which will be on the list. Takes a while to train it. Keeps infected site malware away. Ken.

Well, GOF's I finally got my two Eden EX110 8-ohm cabs. Wow, they are incredible for the size! About 16 tall, 15 wide, and 15 deep. Weigh about 24 pounds each. But two of them stacked put out a pretty good thump and volume.

I'll post pictures later this week-- I just got them today. I tried them out with my GK MB200 and they sounded excellent, then I switched to my GK MB500 and wow do they pound. I think I'll be able to play a lot of different venues with these. I was hesitant about getting them over the EX112 cabs but from what I've heard so far I think they'll be fine.

Hard to believe 30 years ago speakers this size would have been terrible sounding. But these project! How far we've come with speaker efficiency. I'm really glad to have my new Edens. Plus they look very nice! :)
