I've been around Wildlife (pretty much) all my life. The only thing that the "little bells" will accomplish is to alert the bears to an easy meal.....
As the last sentence in the sign states....

If bears can't read, then why are there so many signs telling them where to cross roads? "Bear Crossing Next 15 Miles"

Same damned thing with deer. I can't telly you the number of signs I've seen over the years telling deer where to cross the highway at....
I find that skunks, racoons, and moose all tend to not look before crossing the road.
A mature male moose is really scary big. I had one run out in front, fortunately I was able to stop. Given the size, it could have totalled my car.
Skunks and racoons that have had unfortunate encounters with vehicles are common on the smaller country highways that I typically drive on every weekend.
Some of these roads also have turtle crossing signs. You can weave around them. Why turtles need to cross the road is beyond me.

I was driving on a narrow country road with four foot embankment on both sides. A deer jumped down in front of me and tried to outrun the car. I hit him in the butt and he flew up on the hood butt first cracking the windshield and dropping a DEUCE on it before running away, unharmed.
Here in Sitka we have to be careful how we drive on the highway early in the mornings especially springtime. Deer are out with their babies eating forage on the side of the roads. Got a lot of nice pictures. Also right now after herring season there's a huge number of eagles and seagulls. They feed on the herring as they spawn.

Don't forget the buffalo. You don't want to mess with them.
The ones that are on farms around here are smaller. I prefer working buffalo leather over cow. The leather is thicker and makes nice instrument straps. Threw in a moose for good measure.

I've got a buffalo guitar strap made by the Lakota Leather Co...will definitely outlive me, and likely outlast era of gasoline...
That sign reminds me of when i was getting out of the Nav.. that there was land for sale north of there for 21 dollars an acre.. should have bought some maybe!
