I hope that the $2500 worth of additional options is the other salesman's commission.

What color is the new truck? I was looking at new cars and concluded that if there was a make and model that I liked but didn't come in a color that I could live with, it was a deal breaker. I tend to keep my vehicles for a long time (I suppose in part because I fix them myself) so after functionality, looks are important.

With this fleet truck, I could have any color I wanted as long at it's white ;)

Careful there fellow.....My Ancestors came here from Scotland and settled in Kentucky and Tennessee.....oh wait....never mind.... :)
Lucky for you the law against cousin marryin' cousins came late in the KY State! You must be a KY Kernel with that background! (sorry, you left yourself wide open on that one)

You know why they call a toothbrush a toothbrush and not a teethbrush? True fact, because it was invented in KY.

Young man in KY got married. Wedding went well, went off to the motel for the honeymoon. Makes sweet love and it was the best. Got done, they lay holding hands, then something came over him. He couldn't quite understand what it was or why, but he pulled out his 6 gun and shot her in the head. Called his dad freaking out about it. His dad calmly asked, was she a virgin? He say yup. His dad replied, good job son, if she ain't good enough for her family, she ain't good enough for ours.

It's funny, in Southern IN, they tell the same jokes about KY as the Kentuckians tell about IN. Everyone thinks those across the boarder, a mile away are ignorant, inbred, stupid backasswards rednecks. In all my travels, and I've been around the block more than once, and in more than one way (but can't discuss that here), I find people are the same everywhere, just trying to eek out a living and make it through another day. However, I side with the Kentuckians on this one.

The vans and trucks, AFAIK are all white. That's why conversion vans are so relatively cheap. They are born white, no windows or options, very high quantity, less than we can buy them for, then Elkart, IN sprays on cheap paint and decks them out with windows and nice interior. Look at the schematic for a dodge B250 and there is a connector labeled "conversion." I'm sure the others have similar. Cheap paint peels off the roof first if it isn't garaged :D I did get 231K miles out of mine, bought at under 200K, then the tach died. Should have been about 280K by yearly mileage, then I retired it for rust and bad paint, gave it to a kid who wanted to learn mechanical stuff, guided by his older brother in our 4WD club.

We went and visited my wife's lifelong girlfriend and her husband in Thompkinsville Kentucky one year. From Nashville International it was a three hour drive weaving up and down through country roads and when we got there it was a beautiful town. Lot of brick homes, very well preserved and well kept. Amazing prices too. Homes that would go for $300,000 in Sitka were going for $60,000-80,000. Amazing.

We met some people that her husband introduced us to while touring the town. We were asked... "do you take American money in Alaska?" "Do you have a Wahhhl--Marrrrt?" "Hey, are you an Indian?" Well being- a GOF I heard all that when I was young and prejudice was still the norm. I would just answer, "No, we're just Russian."

Then hubby took us to a really raggedy looking shack that was supposedly the local BBQ restaurant. The ribs were barbecued well but I didn't like the vinegar based sauce. I might like it if I tried it again. Also some of the best sweet potato pie I ever had. It was a nice relaxing visit.

We are pretty stupid as a people...many years ago, when the Olympics were being held Salt Lake City, I remember hearing of some people from Albuquerque wanting to buy more than the daily allotment of tickets for some event.

They were directed to bring it up with the New Mexico embassy, to see if the ambassador could help them.
