 I have a feeling you're going to do a couple lonnnnnnnnnng blues jams! :smug:
Have fun, you'll do fine! Glad you're out in the field playing!

Thanks man. The diva is a very longtime friend who I've shared plenty of stages with, and the venue manager knows we aren't actually ready to go with that much material, and insisted we booked a few gigs there anyway. Things are crazy busy around here at this time of the year and this venue caters mostly to young whitewater rafters and kayakers, who should be out in force today since it'll be in the high 80s, and it's also more local to the diva's home area than anywhere else. Besides, how many gigs give you comp'ed sushi as an option?

Being an old pro I guess you already know take a couple 20 minute breaks and pipe some generic music into the p.a. during the break. John Denver Rocky Mountain High!
Edit: enjoy your sushi!

Do a little Beta testing?
Bro @Ken Morgan I admire your motivation to volunteer with the young lady.... :smug:

Ahem... she is rather cute. Kinda makes the hour very pleasant for me. ;) Truth be told, as I'm getting older, I don't want to be irritable like I was when I was younger. You know, there should be some kind of global award for making it to 65! But I know being irritable is like poison to my body. Plus my company's paying for me to see the cute young lady! :smug:

Preach it Brother!!! When i was a "young man" - I had a temper like a damned wolf...look at me sideways and I'd kick the snot out of the guy....But damn that got old....then I met my Wife. That woman straightened me out - or as my Mother said upon meeting her: "This one - you have finally met your match" and my Father, years later, told she and I - "Boy, she is the best damned thing to ever happen to you".

And he was right. Had I not met and married this woman - I would probably be dead by now.

I could not have said it better. Many of my peers are now in the National Cemetery. My lady saved my life too.

Day 1 complete, only 16 to go! No injuries!

I might be coming to the end of being able to handle 17 hour production days. Fortunately from here on we are down to
12 hour days.

I'm having a hard time seeing the any of the typical transportation industry regulatory weenies not having heart failure when they see pictures like this. :)

Yeah, even with all the engineering behind this build, there is no denying all the possibilities for real danger!

I can see the discussions...

How much power does the rig have?

1 horsepower

Is that tube or class D power?

No, it's really HORSEpower in the most fundamental sense of the word!

But how many watts is that? And are those tube, SS, class D watts and is that RMS, Program, Peak, Burst? Behringer watts or real HP watts?

Good to hear you made it through day 1 unscathed. 17 hrs, eegads, I bet you slept well last night :D BTW: fine looking horse, Andy. Beautiful animal. I hope I can afford one when I retire (and pay someone to do the care for it).

Comp'd Sushi. And 20 something's in bikinis.... Hmm is there a metaphor there @Passinwind ????

Beer, they do appreciate a swig ;)
A buddy of mine who worked at the FBI was big into horse racing and his horses loved fresh Krispy Kreme original glazed doughnuts. They could smell them in the bag and started stirring in their stalls before you got into the barn.

And yes, there is a clear set up here with the doughnuts and law enforcement references, but I'll just leave the possibilities to your imagination.

So, gig report. We were to play from 7 to 9PM, two sets. Got there and it’s raining. Looking at the weather report the organizers decided to continue so we set up. By the time we were to start the rain had stopped and a pile of people had arrived. Some still in their cars up on a hill overlooking the stage. Others parked facing the stage and a bunch of folk in chairs they had brought along. This was the first gig with this band and I had decided to play my Fretless Six. It was a good choice and no sour notes were heard. I played well and sang well. I was a happy camper.

When I got home and took my shirt off it was discovered that I had been the main course for the Mosquitos. I hadn’t felt a single bite and they ate me right through my shirt! Little buggers!!!!!!! :(

The trip home was far better than I had expected. Going North on the 400, the south bound lanes were really busy with people coming home from their cottages. Around 10 PM it was pretty well clear sailing.
