We had a very quiet Christmas this year. Wife Carey got the usual number of phone well wishes. We watched a bunch of Alfred Hitchcock films on TCM and loved it. We did something different this year. Since it's just the two of us, we bought a turkey breast instead of the whole bird. It's literally the turkey that's had it's legs and wings amputated. Well, it took less time to cook and the meat was still very moist and tender. I'm always a dark meat kind of guy but this little Norbest bird convinced me I could eat the healthier side and still enjoy it. Stove Top stuffing, premade microwave mashed potatoes. Wife made her own mashed sweet potatoes and they were divine. Add some cranberries, olives, and Knorr Turkey gravy. It was a heavenly dinner.
We got a great deal on Calphalon Commercial Quality 13 piece cookware for Carey, she's a retired sous chef and makes heavenly tidbits and we both love quality cookware. I got the new Sony flat screen TV because the other 5 year old was starting to go dim. I bought it on Cyber Monday and got a great deal on it. So at our age, those two gifts were enough. And the quiet company of each other and a good meal.
Thank you GOF's for listening to my ramblings from time to time. I enjoy talking to guys that can relate to my life experiences.
Hell, that's why we're GOF's!
