Sad news Brian. I hope and pray it all works out for you and yours.Almost a year ago to the day I was relating earthquake details. Well yesterday a cat. 1 typhoon struck here. Not much wind - 60 to 65 mph. But the deluge of rainfall caused a flash flood n the river which comes through Surigao City. Houses, bridges, cars, livestock. I don't know how many fatalities.
Our niece, who lived in a small cabin next to the river lost everything. My daughter's best friend, who lived with her mom and dad in an upscale gated subdivision 100 yards from the river, said the water came up in 15 minutes filling their first floor and ruining their brand new SUV.
Thank God it was at low tide or the river would have backed up more.
Our home is on high stable ground so we are fine. Except no power or water. We have a half filled water storage tank and little generator so we are okay for now.
I got tired of hand cuts so I bought a chainmail glove. Makes a world of difference.

Which chainmail glove is best for metal?

NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo...............!
This morning when I saw your post, the news was a bit varied, but some said 4 gone, some 5. Sadly it seems one was in infant trapped in a house under a mudslide.Flood update: power and water came back last night.
I saw some video of a couple of folks being swept down the river, under a bridge, and out to sea a couple of miles from here. Very dramatic except it was low tide and there is a sandbar at the juncture of river and sea where they could get off the roof and walk to shore.
Still, a lot of damage and I am not aware of the casualty count, if any.
