Happy Birthday JRA! Hope it's sunny in Indianapolis or Cincinnati or wherever you *really* are and that you have a great day.

(Psst. Hey guys, keep your voices down. Listen, does it bother anyone else that we don't really know where he's from? I bet he has several different passports too. I think we'd better keep an eye on this guy. I'll go check the pictures they have up at the post office tomorrow. I wanted to see if I'm any higher on the list yet anyway. This guy's got a beard and if he has tattoos, then we know he shouldn't be trusted. I know I certainly shouldn't be.)

My sympathies. I hated those calls. That stuff always seems to happen on weekends or at night when you want to be doing anything else. I don't miss being a network janitor (IT manager).

thanks, all ( :thumbsup: ), for the BD wishes and the humor! a great lift for a guy who is daily succumbing to gravity, and a great gift for someone who feels like he already has so much!

I got another bad haircut today. My barber is in his 80's, I've been going to him for 45 years. My wife said that she wants to start cutting my hair. I don't know if that's good or bad.

A Huey was hovering above the city this morning when I was walking over to the barber shop. Probably a movie shoot. Those things are loud! These days, camera shots are often done with the aid of drones.

It made me think of a friend that was a chopper pilot in Vietnam. He died, as did many like him, of cancer due to agent orange exposure. Nobody knew at the time that it would have a long term affect. Not just on those directly involved but genetic effects on their children. He was just doing his job.

Condolences on the loss of your friend. Sadly, I think a lot more folks than we know have their lives irrecoverably changed in war in ways they didn't even realize at the time. Many people who are actually killed by war don't even know it until they are taken from us years later.

War is such a terrible waste of good people on all sides. When Canadian troops were deployed into Afghanistan those who perished would be flown to Trenton AFB here in Ontario. There a convoy was assembled and the fatality and their families would be driven down Highway 401 to Toronto for autopsy. On every bridge that they passed under Police, firefighters, military and we ordinary folk would gather, wave the Maple Leaf and show support for the families. It was all very, very sad.

Canada is deploying troops abroad once more. This time to Mali. I very much fear that the above scenario will be repeated again and again and it breaks my heart.

I never served but I would like to thank all of you who did for your service to your country. Whatever that country is.

War is indeed proof that humanity hasn't evolved very far in past 100,000 yrs. We've harnessed the atom, and all that crap, but until we figure out that killing each other en massed is not a good plan, we won't evolve any further.

Enough of that. Let me tell ya, if your doctor ever, and I mean ever, recommends a procedure called TUNA, run like hell. Had it done early today, and it has nothing to do with fish. A large metal probe, your manhood, microwaves, and tear invoking pain and discomfort for starters.

Demand general anesthesia.

Transurethral needle ablation (TUNA) of the prostate is a procedure used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

It is performed by placing interstitial radiofrequency (RF) needles through the urethra and into the lateral lobes of the prostate, causing heat-induced coagulation necrosis.

The tissue is heated to 110°C at an RF power of 456 kHz for approximately 3 minutes per lesion.

A coagulation defect is created.

Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) was originally developed in the United States between 1920 and 1930 and was generally considered the criterion standard for surgical management of BPH.

For me the procedure would take all day. The search for the missing member would be taxing. :D

Trust me on this...just the positioning is bad enough: think OB/Gyn stirrups. Then someone you are paying damn good money to grabs hold of your prized possession and shoves a metal rod deep enough in ya so the tip is up against your prostate...

Then little needles start radiating heat and stuff for about 30 minutes...just dang

Hopefully this will get my remaining kidney function up...if not...dialysis in the not too distant future
