Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I had a vasectomy years ago at my urologist's office and aside from the shot to numb things, it wasn't painful. I do distinctly remember seeing puffs of smoke rising from that area as he was cauterizing things though. It was a bit disconcerting at first, but I had become good friends with the doctor before that and we started making all sorts of bad jokes and laughing loudly enough that one of the nurses came in to see what the noise was all about. My wife was there and she and the nurse just exchanged one of those "Men... what are you gonna do?" looks.

Dude! Of course there are the vasectomy stories... like 30 yrs +/- ago I had mine done at an AFB facility in Lubbock, while I lived In Odessa, 155 miles away. The surgical deadening stuff wore off at 60 miles on the way home.

Had a surgical glove filled with water, shaped like a gently cupped hand, then frozen to help with the ride, but ...

Won't mention the young nurse who did the prep was a dead ringer for young EmmyLou Harris, either. When my, er, 30 yr old soldier started reacting as any other soldier would to be handled by a stone cold babe, she had a way of thumping said soldier as to ward off any further attention moves. Then the drugs kicked in.

My vasectomy was pretty pain free, but the doc said that we'd better stop joking around during the really delicate part. I was happy to comply. Afterward I did follow a suggestion from a friend of mine and stopped at a grocery store and bought two large bags of frozen peas. They worked much better than an ice bag as far as conforming to uneven surfaces. Just switched them out every hour or so. One came out of the freezer and the other went back in.

And then a pie floater for dins later in the week : )
Man with what they gave me - they could've cut the whole shooting match off and I wouldn't have known or cared.
I did a secound take when I realised the Dr's name was Mr Gai - though that's better another one I had - Dr Cutmore.

I don't think I'd have gone to him for that job!

I too had a vasectomy many years ago. It's how I discovered that I have a high tolerance for local anesthetics. After he stabbed me in tender areas he started cutting! I started yelling! He had to give me another shot to finally quell the pain.
That was painful to read, I can't imagine actually living through the experience. In fact, I'm not sure how the medical community allows stuff like this to go on while people complain about enhanced interrogation methods that make these stories sound like a kid getting a scraped knee on the playground at recess.

I wish everyone a very happy Easter as well. Eat a hunk of chocolate for me as, being a diabetic, I'm not allowed. :rollno:

Backatcha Paul! I just had a boiled egg instead of chocolaty goodness :(

And Happy Easter to the rest of you GOF's!
I had ham and eggs for breakfast. No chocolate here either. Happy Easter to all good people. GOFs, you too!
