I was thinking of you guys that live in the Philippines as we have had an event near my home. The first Canadian branch of a restaurant chain called Jollibee has opened. There were crowds attending looking for Fried Chicken, sweet spaghetti and other unpronounceable dishes.

I'm lucky as far as remembering important dates is concerned. Our anniversary is 4/1, April Fools Day, and my wife's birthday is 4/15, income tax day. No chance of me forgetting either of them.

Jollibee in Canada!!?? Actually, their fried chicken is okay. And you can get it with rice instead of fries. I still haven't acquired a taste for the sweet spaghetti. They also serve a so called "hot dog". I eat these once in a while and make believe it's a real hot dog.

So I went to the dentist again to get a "bone poke" (that's what it's called) repaired. My jawbone wore its way through my gum where he pulled a tooth last month. In the USA it would have required a referral to an oral surgeon and big $$. My guy just got out his scalpel and angle grinder attachment for his drill. A couple of stitches, 25 minutes later I'm fixed. $20, hahaha. The bad news is that another one has to come out. I damaged it a couple of weeks ago biting on a seed or a stone or something hard. Now it's abscessed.

At the rate I'm losing teeth, by October I'll just have my wife spray paint my face orange, put a candle in my mouth, and set me on the front porch for Halloween.

Speaking of taxes, my local library branch has had free AARP tax filing for the past few years and I decided to take advantage of it this year.

They finished mine up Tuesday about 1:45 p.m. and today at about 3:45 p.m. or so my bank sends me a text that both my federal and state refunds are deposited into my account.

3 days ? I've never got them back that fast. I think 10 days was my shortest wait the last few years.

It's more about the people along the tracks, like the so called off gridders, and their struggles with the fuzzy bears, meese you mentioned, and making it through the day. I only saw one episode so far, but very cool!

We've had a Jollibee at Bathurst and Wilson in Toronto for at least 7 years... There are always lines at that place. It's right next to another incredible restaurant that does outdoor grilling. Beats the Marky's Deli thats been ripping us jewish folk off for decades.

Thanks for correcting me @frankie5string, the newscast said the one in Kennedy Commons was the first. Maybe they meant the first in Scarborough.

Actually, I had to double check that because I think it was originally a Jollitops, then it became a Jollibee lol!
That corner, Bathurst and Wilson, is affectionately known as "Little Manilla" ...
