Never ate a monkey, but I did eat a fruit bat in JEST. Planning to repeat the course upon return to the Philippines.

I don't remember the chickadee:

While SERE training has certainly saved lives, I'm sure no one will argue that it hasn't also killed appetites! FWIW, Euell Gibbons didn't exactly live a long life...my conclusion is that man simply wasn't meant to eat tree bark and other miscellaneous stuff found in nature until it is properly processed with chemicals and packaged in plastic.

On a clear day in southern Calif., it was reported that back in the day it was possible to see Euell Gibbons grazing on Mt. Wilson! ;)

i guess shortly after a nuclear holocaust I’d consider consuming something on essentially the same evolutionary step as I, but it would be after ALL the dogs, cats, rabbits, and assorted 4legged critters were gone...

The same evolutionary step? Perhaps not. Our evolutionary kinfolks didn’t nuke themselves into oblivion, we did, so just which of us is the more advanced again? :smug:

In defense of mankind, at least most of us don't throw our feces at others :D

Speak for yourself! I remember getting thrown out of the Toledo Zoo once for responding in kind to what the chimps were doing to the zoo visitors. How was I supposed to know that there was a Plexiglas divider between us and them?
