So last evening was somewhat interesting. We got sheeting rain the like of which I have seldom seen. After that came the wind. And what a wind it was. Just under Hurricane force at 116Km/Hr but Hamilton got it worse at 126Km/Hr. Both our airports were closed down to all flights. Tractor Trailers blown onto their sides. Bridges closed to all traffic. Roosf were ripped off, fences torn down. All in all a good evening to stay home.

I went for one of my walks today and in our neighbourhood, on the route, I took four trees are down and a fifth that branched into two had one side ripped off. Bits of roofing tiles are everywhere.

We had a pretty good blow here in central MD. a few weeks back. Not as bad as yours last night but pretty impressive.
OK , back to the pic of the girl. That's not bad posture , it's a pose. That happens to be called a models curve. Very seldom will you see a model standing straight. They almost always curve a bit to one side or the other although I will say that hers is a bit extreme.

We've had odd weather in Sitka. Doesn't feel like a typical spring. Last week there were rainstorms... bad enough that flights couldn't get in. Odd weather we're getting everywhere nowadays.

I finally got a week off work. To keep me off the streets, I'm de-rusting my Jeep. Jeeps past, I did all the body work myself. Actually did everything myself. Those were always off-road vehicles and not our primary transportation that has to be kept looking good or I get nagged to death. This one has to look good, so my good corrosion control and mediocre appearance tactics ain't going to cut it. So, since the rust is on the fenders, a bushwacker fender flare kit is in my hands... no painting required.

Should look like:

- bling rims and tires.

Rust never sleeps.

You have to kill the rust before you bedazzle the vehicle.

Do something to kill the rust before you cover it up. Grind it out or at least , spray it real good with some kind of rust inhibitor. If you don't , the rust will soon creep out from under the fender flares and ruin your pretty work. Rust that gets only covered up will spread rapidly since the covers (I.E. fender flares) will tend to hold the water against it.

Not to worry, I've been unrusting Jeeps forever, and it never comes back. This one only has to last a few years, so I'm not going after it quite as aggressively.

What we have are minivans on steroids.

I'm not adding any bling or anything, just removing the rust and covering the work on the fenders, unfading the exterior plastic, and repainting the stock roof-rack.

I don’t really look at mine as a Jeep. It’s a Compass so more like a car with AWD. I did chose the larger 4 engine. It holds all of my stuff and a fair amount of my PA set up too. It’a a 2010 and I’ve done just over 23000 Kilometres in it.

Mine’s a ‘99 Paint’s still good on it except for the rust over the rear wheel’s and a couple of scratches. Back axle will go one day. I6 is almost broken in now, just under 200K. I’ll probably have to do tires, suspension and brakes before I lay her to rest. If I replace it with something I don’t need to work on, it would cost me more than a year of retirement income. It would also be the youngest four wheel drive I ever sold

Last night, I got all the plastic off and the liner on the front right. Amazingly clean. I expected rust. Now it’s time to get the sawzall warmed up.

After drawing on, cutting, bending, beating and sealing,1 done, except for getting the liner in and bolting the flair on. Letting stuff dry and taking a break.
