Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Egads. Well, remember the basic brother Stumbo:

Water flows up.

Dookey flows down.

For God's sake, don't chew your fingernails.
I scratched my butt so it all worked out.

Just one minor active leak. Fixing some minor water damage. Replacing shower valves, a bath faucet and toilet, kitchen faucet. Last thing will be part of kitchen ceiling

One day this past week the city shut down the sewer lines on the street from 08-23 hrs. No using the drains, no flushing the toilet, no showers. All this with 24 hours notice. We had to improvise.

They were extruding a lining inside the old street pipes to seal the leaks. The pipes are apparently built out of bricks. They must have been constructed in the 1800’s.

Nice lyrics Charlie. I wonder if they'll ever get it.

It's close enough to Halloween that the students in the neighborhood are out in their costumes. This usually runs for a couple of weekends past the day, especially for the girls that seemingly want to dress provacitively to garner attention. It's sad to see, I wish that their parents could see them.

I've noticed a trend in the last few years. Groups of loud, drunk or stoned females roaming the streets late at night. Ear piercing screaming and group singing till all hours. It used to be just the males doing this.
Thanks David, it's an old lyric I never did anything with.

It's kind of different in my neighborhood, but with some similarities. A lot of provocatively dressed chicks but they are all hookers, hard drug addicts, or both.

They are quiet though. I wish they were loud. Then I would have a heads up when they are near my house

Up until this summer it wasn't all that bad around here but this year has been just this side of a war zone.

I really shouldn't be living here where I'm at but I've been here since 93 and my rent has only went up 50 bucks a month one time. 400.00 a month for a four bedroom house is hard to walk away from.

I'm blessed with good neighbors all around me though.

For that price, a few inconveniences are well worth it. Needles and condoms on the street, not so good.

Attention GOF’s. Report front and center. All fingers and toes appendages accounted for? Tonight is a quiet night at home. There is no place like home with my bride. We will take it easy and do whatever she wants, that’s fine by me!:D

What say ye GOF’s? What have you planned for this weekend?

Chilling out. It was warmer today but yesterday it was cold enough to snow. I had to wear pants. Got to seal the windows for the winter.

Probably going apple picking tomorrow.

No condoms , but I've found syringes galore. I'd rather not touch them but I pick them up and drop them into a gallon of bleach just to keep small children from picking them up and playing with them.

We had our Friday night jam on Wed. this week since the host went out of town today. Time for some blackberry wrasslin' and other general winterization projects. Hopefully I can also make a little time for dialing in my new onboard preamp install, which has seemed pretty promising so far. Nice to do one for myself for a change!

Wow. What a night. What a week. Where to start. Think I'll go backwards on this one. Played my first gig tonight with my new 2 12 av. I was most impressed with it. It covered everything my 8 10 did with no problems. Hmmm , 64 lbs. or 169 lbs. Don't think the 8 10 will be getting much work anymore.
Next... I have wanted to play in a band with a brass section since I was a kid. Did a sub gig a few weeks ago with a guy that has a couple of bands , one with a killer brass section. I guess he liked my work 'cause a couple of days later he called me and asked if I wanted to play in his band with the brass section. I jumped on it. First rehearsal with them is Sunday.
Now the bad news . I told the BL in my current band I had taken this position. He said he wasn't going to try to book around someone in another band. Funny thing is that when I joined his band I was already in another band and he booked around that band for over a year. I told him I would finish out any bookings we had and would be glad to pick up anything else that came up if I was free but it looks like I'll be out as soon as he can get a replacement. So be it.
And now for the really bad news. I picked the last tomatoes off of my vines this week. No more home growns till next year now.
Hey , new band that has been a dream of mine for years and a new cab that I like that will save many arguments with my back. Oh yeah. Seahag likes the new band better than the old one. Life is good.

Lost 105 lbs. without dieting!

The only problem with a band with a brass section is that everyone makes less. If you aren’t in it for the money, all is well.

Cheap bands simply get an harmonica player.

FYI: If you haven't renewed your driver's license lately, since 9/11, there has been a process in place to have states follow federal guidelines for issuing cards that are secure and to be used for commercial flights and access to some secure federal facilities.

Here's a link for more info: Real ID Public FAQs

It’s good that they are using a standardized ID. Better than having to go to the police station to verify. Any photo ID is a pain when the image has to be renewed.

Carrying a passport when flying domesically, is good. Embassy visits require that you surrender all electronic devices, sharp objects, etc, like when flying.
