A Little Bit Harder To Get

Well you think you got the spotlight
And got all the men sweatin in their beer
You got a way of actin like you love
All the come on lines you hear
For a drink you’ll sit and act like you
Really like the poor foolish guy
But you're already thinking ‘bout
Playin the next fool standin in line

Little miss queen of the bar
Don’t you be lookin my way
Cause I know your kind
And it’s a game I'm just not gonna play
I’ll admit I’m looking for love
But I haven't found it yet
Cause I kinda like my women
A little bit harder to get

Well you say you just don’t get it
And you can’t believe I won’t talk to you
You tell me that you’re willin to love me
You like a man who’s no fool
I don’t want to take that chance you see
Seen it too many times before
Drinkin up my hard earned money
Eyeing the next fool walkin through the door

Little Miss queen of the bar
Don’t you be lookin my way
Cause I know your kind
And it’s a game I'm just not gonna play
I’ll admit I’m looking for love
But I haven't found it yet
Cause I kinda like my women
A little bit harder to get

Guess in a way she’s what I’m looking for
All the guys are takin bets on who’s gonna score
But something just tells me to let it ride
Don’t give her a chance to walk on my pride

Little miss queen of the bar
Don’t you be lookin my way
Cause I know your kind
And it’s a game I'm just not gonna play
I’ll admit I’m looking for love
But I haven't found it yet
Cause I kinda like my women
A little bit harder to get

Nice lyrics Charlie. I wonder if they'll ever get it.

It's close enough to Halloween that the students in the neighborhood are out in their costumes. This usually runs for a couple of weekends past the day, especially for the girls that seemingly want to dress provacitively to garner attention. It's sad to see, I wish that their parents could see them.

I've noticed a trend in the last few years. Groups of loud, drunk or stoned females roaming the streets late at night. Ear piercing screaming and group singing till all hours. It used to be just the males doing this.

Walked into a bar one night
There you stood in all your glory
The way you looked was... shall I say?
More than just a little whorey

Standing there in your mini-skirt
Cut way up on your creamy thighs
Staring at me through the barroom smoke
Leering at me with your bedroom eyes

(chorus)
You come strutting across the floor
Brush against me as you pass me
But I've seen your ilk before
You're evil, wicked, mean... and nasty

(Just the first verse and chorus above)
From the song: Evil, Wicked, Mean, and Nasty by The Middle-Aged Mutant Ninja Guinea Pigs
copyright 1992 Timothy Coon
To be sung in your best Capt. Beefheart voice

This song was inspired by some actual groupies at some of the bars I played. The best was the bar with the pool table up in a balcony area above the dance floor, and the girl shooting pool in a mini-skirt with no panties! In the words of John Belushi: "When you bend over, I see every bit of Christmas, when you bend back I'm looking right into the New Year."

I bought a new pair of headphones this week, Lola by Blue. They aren’t inexpensive but they aren’t super expensive either.

I normally have problems using headphones. They make my inner ear swell and when bad enough brings on dizziness. I used these all day and was impressed with them. No ear issues at all today. They are lightweight and comfortable.

The only negative is that the cable is not heavy like I’m accustomed to with pro Beyerdynamic products. More like you’d find with the Sony MDR-7506 and similar products that are commonly fou d in studios. On one hand, this is good as there is no weight or restrictions. There are standard 3.5mm stereo plugs at each end so the cable can be easily replaced.

A plus is that a second cable with a Apple type mic and volume control is included for use with an iPhone, etc. Using it for phone meetings, I found that it has better sound quality than the mic that comes with the Apple earbuds. The over that ear headphones also vastly improves the hearing quality.

The headphones sound really good when recording, as if I’m sitting there without headphones. A very natural sound. I use them with Sonarworks Reference 4 which applies compensation for the frequency response curve of the headphones. This removes coloration and allows you to hear a flat response across the audio range. Good for mixing.

Worth checking out if you are looking for headphones.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! @Stumboli! What do you mean, "won't be around much for awhile"??? Where are you going for this 'downsizing' you speak of? Please, take us with you! Just a line, or so, every few days, or so, to keep in touch . . . either here, or in a special thread?!

Some
of us may have already been through it and have helpful tips. ;) Some of us may need to learn of this thing. Some of us may lend supporting encouragement. Some of us may gladly carry off that junk you wanna get rid of. And, Heaven forfend that there should be any bidding wars for the good stuff!

Just something to consider . . . .
Well, ankle deep in 5 plumbing issues. 2.5 solved.
