Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I consider myself very fortunate...my wife does the cooking, dishes and even the laundry. Only she can do those things right! Am I blessed or what?

You and me, both, Soul Man! You and me both! Many say I'm spoiled, and I can't disagree. But, I think I spoil her right back, in other ways.

Our kids call us co-dependent. And as I just now got off the phone with her, being gone a few days, we heartily agree. We're co-dependent and proud of it!!

I'm a grumpy old bacheloring fart, dangitall! Now, git off my lawn!

I agree with you, @G-Dog. It took me three tries to finally find the one who fully appreciates how helpless I am ;). Seriously though, a couple who recognizes each other's strengths and weaknesses and whose relationship grows from there, has a foundation that is rock solid. Luck, no...working together...yes.

On my first cruise in the Navy, all the junior enlisted guys in the band were required to make coffee for all the senior guys-one of those big commercial/restaurant makers(1966). I didn't drink coffee back then and I told them that I didn't know what I was doing. They said to fill the thing about 1/2 way from the deep sink about 125' down the passageway from our quarters. The deep sink had both fresh and salt water spigots. I did about 1/4 salt. They never had me make coffee again.:smug:

 Revenge of the enlisted men!

Friends, neighbors, and kinfolk, I'm here to tell you, I lucked out so massively in that dept. that I've spent the rest of my life waiting for the karmic scales to balance out. Literally the first woman I met when I was discharged in 1969 became my wife, and we're still swapping dishwashing 50 years later. If I was custom ordering with an unlimited budget, I couldn't have drawn better specs. "she can dance a Cajun rhythm, jump like a Willys in four wheel drive"

Maybe what you did wasn’t so bad, just the proportion.

Why You Should Be Adding Salt to Your Coffee

I spent the better part of five years on a Destroyer. Part of that duty was a required 3 month stint as a "mess cook". I was appointed to be the CPO's mess cook because I knew how to make good "Navy" coffee. Yes, it does include a small amount of salt. I cannot reveal the other secret ingredients, nor can I confirm or deny the presence or absence of nuclear weapons aboard.

Edit: I only lasted about a month in the Chiefs mess. My sardonic wit was severely underappreciated.
