Today, I am really Grumpy...not four months ago I lost my 97 year old mother.

This morning I receive word that my younger sister passed away over the weekend.

I am counting my blessings, as I look over my shoulder...

I am sorry for your loss. My only sister passed suddenly a little over a year ago, and it hit me very differently than other losses, including both parents over the years. I did not expect the grief to feel so qualitatively different. But no one was closer to me.

This is perfect. That number is perfect. 13 - my uniform number for sports when I was a kid (and middle-aged rec league warrior). 44 - the uniform number of my baseball idol and role model, Willie McCovey who recently passed. And the thought of over 13,000 grumpy old farts in talkbass land warms my heart.

Cosmo’s Factory 40 year edition remaster is well worth the cost of admission.

Now that is a great suggestion. The 11 minute cover of I Heard It Through the Grapevine is worth the admission price. While I have long considered Marvin Gaye's Grapevine as the de facto Black American National Anthem for those of us of a certain generation, I've always loved CCR's cover nearly as much. Gonna have to treat myself to that.

Sorry @SoulReflection for your loss. I lost my mom when she was 78. 26 years ago. I wish I had more time with my family. My brother died at 52. So I feel your pain.
