Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I hate it when I go to the hardware or grocery store and forget some of what I was supposed to get. This necessitates a second walk in the cold. It’s a good thing that there’s a dounut shop along the way.

The dogs seem quite happy playing in the snow, despite the cold and wind today. These days most wear a coat and boots in the winter.

I recognize your avatar picture, another Grateful Dead reference, so that means you're old too. Welcome to 66. From what I can tell it doesn't feel much different than 65, except maybe a few more aches. I don't remember what 64 was like.
Ha! I used to see them back in the day, in and around NYC..awesome sound! Very full, but not too loud, You could see your shirt rippling when Phil dropped a bomb! bout 1970 I think.

The older you get, the faster time goes, it is bizarre!!

Yep, it's Frankenstein's theory of relatives! The more generations of progeny you, or even just your friends, have; the older you get and the faster it goes by. That's why you wanna get all the quality entanglements you can before you reach your singularity and get full of wormholes.

Sumpin' lak dat.

Just for gits and shiggles:

I just wrote a long post whilst in a sad place. I deleted it ‘cos ya don’t need to read that crap. All my best wishes go out to you and yours and I hope 2019 brings you nothing but joy, health and happiness. :)

Likewise, Paul. Here's hoping that 2019 is safe, healthy and prosperous for you and yours, as well as for all us GOFs.

'Course there'll be troubles, but we've been through quite a bit already. The comfort is to share, both joys and grief, and carry on as best we can.

Now, get off my lawn! Yer leaving tracks in the mud!!

Good morning GOF's! A belated ROLL CALL! Front and center brothers! Report in if all toes fingers and appendages are accounted for. It's pretty cold here in Sitka so all Carey and I can do today is work inside and tidy up. I bought Carey a movie called "A Walk With a White Dog" starring Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy. Tonight is movie date night complete with snacks. Maybe a little snuggling due to the cold.. ;)

What say ye, GOF's? What do you have planned for the weekend? Last week bro @BadExample dropped the gauntlet with a Youtube vid from the Navy. I answer that challenge with my own video of the 8" Howitzer unit I was assigned to in the Army in Baumholder, Germany in the 1970's. We were 'tactical nuclear capable' which means we could fire off 8" nuclear rounds for a small atomic burst.

Just checking in, Will. Happy "snuggling" :jawdrop::wideyed:.

Reporting from DC, affectionately referred to as Our Nation’s Capital...home to the universally reviled Bryce Harper for a few more daze...

Here to attend my niece’s baptism tomorrow morn.

She’s 35, and our family history involves being baptized at 10 days old. My sister rejected that, thinking that her kids would decide for themselves, if/when the time was right for them.

We had a Great talk over quesadillas & beer last night!

The time is right.

Answering roll call in a timely manner for once. What'd you expect, consistency???
All fingers and toes accounted for, except for this one toe that I don't recognize and I'm sure wasn't there last time I looked.
My only plan for the weekend is to continue trying to cough my lungs out. We've both been battling respiratory demons since the weekend after Thankgiving and we're both on our second relapse. Initially mine was like my typical yearly sinus infection, but by the third pass it has morphed into bronchitis. I really really notice the difference in my immune system as I get older. It used to be that I'd rarely get a cold and if I did, it was mild and quick. Not so much anymore. Besides the effects of aging, I think we've been getting exposed to more since the grandson started pre-school. Oh boy, fresh viruses.
Damn kids. Get off the lawn, and take those leaves with you.

One good thing this week though. Our 37 year old daughter announced that she and her boyfriend are getting married in June. That really took us by surprise. She's always been fiercely independent and I never really expected she'd make that move, but I'm glad she's found someone she can be happy with and I like the guy.
