Soulful Sunday, yes. That can take many forms, and I need to start shedding this before my snowbird vocalist friend makes her springtime appearance at the Friday jam space soon. I'll learn a Zappa tune or two of her choice (or ten if she wants, LOL!), she gets to tackle this, which she chose from a number of things I suggested:

The Chapen family was introduced in that clip. Harry Chapen went on to release songs such as Cats In The Cradle and Taxi. A lot of talent.

Back in the 60’s, there were folk circuits, players toured, jumping along a chain from one city to the next, playing at hole in the ground coffee house dives and clubs across the US and Canada. All big names today but they were just kids at the time wanting to perform. Most were broke. People like Joni, Neil Young, John Phillips, the Chapens, and many others would meet up together on bills and swap songs while trying to impress one another.

By the time they made it big, they were seasoned song writers and performers. Sometimes their songs were given to other artists first who had hits with them. For example Judy Collins was given Suzanne by Leonard Cohen and it became a huge hit for her; John Phillips gave songs to Joni Mitchell.

In absence of clear recollection of Brian Auger, went down the rabbit hole of a search and clickity teh linkz until arriving at an entry for Maddy Prior. And saw Steeleye Span in Whelan's in Dublin, where the Guinness is poured like none other. Except my seat is where the loo used to be.

I guess it saves the walk to the Ladies! :)

I read that as they closed down the loo and set up tables and different types of seats in there.

Exactly that, stage right. Perfect view of the bass player. I mean, who pays attention to that guy when Maddy's singing? (is my face red)

Anyone with the name Alexa must have a difficult time these days.

We were listening to our radio station KX96 when it came up with instructions to enable the Alexa unit to play the station. Next moment from this little hockey puck we hear..............”Welcome to KX96” and it starts to play. That gave us a great laugh. :D
